# Senior Cloud FinOps Analyst
## About the Role
In the capacity of a Senior Cloud FinOps Analyst, you will be instrumental in enhancing the FinOps practice at NEXT, with a strong emphasis on Microsoft Azure. Your primary responsibilities will include designing and applying financial governance policies, processes, and frameworks to optimize cloud investments, ensuring they provide significant value and efficiency. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams, including engineering, DevOps, finance, and procurement, to promote financial accountability and effectively manage the cloud environment. Ultimately, your work will drive strategic financial decisions and support the organization in achieving its cloud financial management objectives.
## Key Responsibilities
– **Develop FinOps Frameworks**: Establish and implement cloud cost management policies and best practices across teams.
– **Drive Cost Optimization**: Identify savings opportunities in Azure services through resource optimization and utilization tracking.
– **Collaborate Cross-Functionally**: Partner with Cloud Engineers, DevOps, Finance, and Procurement to integrate FinOps principles into workflows.
– **Build Dashboards & Reports**: Create and maintain Power BI dashboards for clear visibility into spending trends and actionable insights.
– **Lead Forecasting & Budgeting**: Collaborate with finance and product teams to create Azure budgets and accurate spend forecasts.
– **Promote Financial Awareness**: Conduct training sessions to empower teams in managing their cloud expenditures.
– **Assess FinOps Maturity**: Perform evaluations of FinOps maturity to identify improvement areas for continuous enhancement of financial management practices.
## Required Skills
– **FinOps Certification**: Recognized certification (e.g., FinOps Certified Practitioner) and understanding of core FinOps principles.
– **Azure & FinOps Tooling Expertise**: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Azure services and tools like Azure Cost Management and Infracost.
– **Data Analysis & Visualization**: Proficiency in Power BI and Google Sheets for data modeling and reporting.
– **Automation & Scripting Skills**: Experience with scripting tools like PowerShell for reporting and cost monitoring automation.
– **Cross-Functional Collaboration**: Strong communication skills to work effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.
– **Analytical & Organized Mindset**: Detail-oriented with problem-solving skills and a practical approach to financial governance.
