# Cloud Financial Management | FinOps Specialist

## About the Role

Decskill is seeking a Cloud Financial Management | FinOps Specialist for an international project based in Porto. The role focuses on monitoring cloud and AI spending, improving cost visibility, and identifying opportunities to optimize cloud resources and services.

You will collaborate with business, finance, infrastructure, cloud, engineering, operational, and product development teams. Your work will support financial decision-making, cloud governance, delivery processes, and the adoption of FinOps and DevFinOps practices.

## Key Responsibilities

– Analyze and monitor cloud and AI service spending across products and services.
– Identify cost drivers, trends, optimization opportunities, and business-value implications.
– Monitor daily cloud costs and spending patterns.
– Prepare and present weekly and monthly cost reports.
– Improve cloud cost transparency through reporting, showback, and cost attribution.
– Implement cost and resource optimization initiatives, including rightsizing, waste management, rate optimization, discounts, and Savings Plans.
– Track the progress and outcomes of optimization initiatives.
– Support Cloud Financial Management controls and guardrails for operational and product teams.
– Contribute to FinOps and DevFinOps practices across cloud environments.
– Develop financial models, forecasts, projections, and scenario analyses.
– Support ROI evaluation for cloud initiatives.
– Improve tools, processes, and financial and technical data integrations.
– Contribute to Policy-as-Code and FinOps practices within delivery pipelines.
– Present insights and recommendations to technical, financial, operational, and management stakeholders.

## Required Skills

– Professional experience in Cloud Financial Management, FinOps, DevFinOps, Cloud Cost Optimization, or a similar role.
– Strong knowledge of cloud service cost management and optimization.
– Experience with cloud pricing models, discounts, and cost optimization strategies.
– Knowledge of FinOps principles and methodologies.
– Experience with cost attribution, showback, forecasting, and amortization.
– Experience identifying cloud cost drivers and optimization opportunities.
– Knowledge of rightsizing and cloud resource optimization.
– Experience with cloud financial reporting and monitoring.
– Experience developing financial models and cost projections.
– Knowledge of ROI analysis and scenario modelling.
– Experience working with AWS cloud environments.
– Knowledge of Savings Plans and rate optimization.
– Experience integrating FinOps practices into engineering and delivery processes.
– Familiarity with DevFinOps and Policy-as-Code concepts.
– Experience working in Agile environments.
– Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
– Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
– Ability to communicate complex information clearly to different stakeholders.
– Ability to identify continuous improvement and optimization opportunities.
– Ability to work effectively in dynamic and distributed environments.
– Fluency in English.

– Deliver cost reporting, showback, cost attribution, forecasting, and amortization analysis.
– Identify and implement rightsizing, waste reduction, rate optimization, discount, and Savings Plan initiatives.
– Develop financial models, cost projections, scenario analyses, and ROI evaluations.
– Support cloud cost controls, guardrails, Policy-as-Code, and FinOps integration within delivery pipelines.
– Track optimization results and improve cost-management tools and processes.
