# Finance Excellence Manager (m/f/d)

## About the Role

Symrise is seeking a Finance Excellence Manager to join its One Digital IT Department. Reporting to the Head of IT Strategy and Operational Excellence, you will establish robust financial governance and ensure that IT investments are aligned with business value.

You will act as a trusted advisor to the CDIO and IT Leadership Team, improving transparency across IT costs, value, and risk. The role partners with Corporate Finance, HR, the Transformation Office, and leaders across Applications, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Digital Workplace, and regional IT teams.

This is a full-time position based at Symrise’s global headquarters in Holzminden, Germany, or in Barcelona, Spain.

## Key Responsibilities

– Build and embed an IT financial excellence framework covering budgeting, forecasting, planning, and reporting.
– Develop multi-year IT financial plans aligned with digital transformation and enterprise strategy.
– Establish IT cost transparency and unit-cost models, such as cost per user, application, or service.
– Lead monthly financial performance reviews with the IT Leadership Team, covering variances, cost drivers, risks, and optimization opportunities.
– Create financial dashboards and KPIs covering run, grow, and transform spend, project ROI, and investment lifecycle tracking.
– Track internal and external personnel expenditure in collaboration with HR.
– Baseline and monitor One Digital transformation against approved business cases, supporting the Transformation Office.
– Work with Corporate Finance to align corporate accounting with IT operational finance.
– Advise IT leaders on financial planning, execution, and management of their financial footprint.
– Lead the IT Finance contribution to annual planning, MRP, and quarterly forecasting cycles.
– Participate in governance forums such as the IT Investment Board (DAT) and Transformation Steering Committee when required.
– Identify and implement cost optimization opportunities, including demand rationalization, contract restructuring, and consumption rightsizing.
– Coach IT Leadership Team members on financial accountability, vendor strategy, and commercial awareness.
– Introduce training and tools to improve financial literacy across IT teams.
– Promote transparency, value-for-money, and continuous financial improvement.

## Required Skills

– Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, IT Management, or a related field.
– At least 5 years of experience in IT financial management within large or global companies.
– Experience managing and optimizing multi-million-euro IT budgets or spend.
– Demonstrated success in developing financial frameworks.
– Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
– Strong commercial acumen.
– Familiarity with IT governance and financial tools.

– Develop multi-year IT financial plans and manage budgeting, forecasting, planning, and reporting.
– Improve visibility into IT costs through unit-cost modelling and financial dashboards.
– Track run, grow, and transform expenditure, project ROI, investment lifecycles, and personnel spend.
– Review financial performance, variances, cost drivers, and financial risks.
– Identify cost optimization opportunities through demand rationalization, contract restructuring, and consumption rightsizing.
– Support cost governance and financially responsible decision-making across IT.
– Align IT operational finance with Corporate Finance and enterprise planning cycles.
– Track One Digital transformation investment against business cases.
