## About the Role
This Senior FinOps Analyst role focuses on strengthening cloud financial management across AWS environments within a MedTech capability center. The position exists to improve cost visibility, forecasting accuracy, accountability, and resource efficiency while supporting compliance and operational discipline in a regulated setting.
You will work closely with Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, DevOps, SRE, Security, Finance, Procurement, and Application teams. The role also extends FinOps controls to AI infrastructure, including GPU-based workloads, model training, inference, and GenAI services.
## Key Responsibilities
– Lead the FinOps strategy and governance model for AWS cloud spend.
– Build and maintain cost reporting, executive dashboards, KPIs, and financial review materials.
– Own budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes.
– Define and track cloud unit economics such as cost per user, transaction, API call, storage, and data processed.
– Put in place cloud financial controls, including tagging, budget guardrails, anomaly detection, automated remediation, and chargeback/showback models.
– Drive AWS optimization through rightsizing, architecture improvements, commitment-based discounts, and operational efficiency initiatives.
– Partner with technical and finance teams to embed cost-conscious decisions across the application lifecycle.
– Establish cost governance for AI/ML platforms, GPU infrastructure, model training, inference, and GenAI services.
## Required Skills
– Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
– 5+ years of FinOps experience with evidence of cloud cost savings and efficiency improvements.
– 3+ years of AWS cloud cost management experience.
– Strong understanding of cloud economics, cost allocation, tagging strategies, showback/chargeback, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and cost optimization methods.
– Direct experience working with engineering and cloud platform teams.
– Advanced skills in Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting tools.
– Strong communication and executive presentation skills.
– Excellent planning and management skills, with the ability to coordinate cross-functional work and deadlines.
– Proven success implementing proactive FinOps practices that improve savings, cost avoidance, forecasting accuracy, and long-term governance.
## Preferred Skills
– Experience in FDA-regulated industries such as MedTech, Healthcare, Life Sciences, or Medical Devices.
– Familiarity with AWS services and cloud architecture patterns.
– Experience with AWS Cost Explorer, AWS CUR (Cost & Usage Reports), and Savings Plans.
– Experience building cloud unit economics models.
– Understanding of AI/ML infrastructure and cost governance.
– FinOps Certified Practitioner or FinOps Certified Professional certification.
– AWS Solutions Architect, Cloud Practitioner, or equivalent certification.
