## Head of Finance Operations, Bangalore
### About the Role
Stripe’s Finance Operations organisation supports Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Travel & Expense, Payroll, Monetisation Operations, and strategic enablement. This role leads the Bangalore Finance hub, which is Stripe’s largest concentration of FinOps and Controllership talent and is central to scaling finance services without increasing cost or complexity at the same pace.
As Head of Finance Operations, Bangalore, you will guide the strategy and day-to-day execution of the full hub. You will manage team leads and managers across the major finance service lines, act as the senior operational leader for India, and report directly to the global Head of Finance Operations.
The role requires close partnership with global Finance leadership and stakeholders across Accounting, Legal, HR, Engineering, SOX, Internal Audit, and FinOps Strategic Enablement. The focus is on scalable operations, strong controls, better processes, and clear communication.
### Key Responsibilities
– Lead the Bangalore Finance Operations organisation, covering 4–6 team leads and managers and a combined team of 60–100+ employees.
– Oversee service lines spanning Accounts Payable and vendor onboarding, Travel & Expense, Payroll, Monetisation Operations, and Controllership.
– Set performance expectations, develop the leadership capability of your managers, and build a culture of ownership, precision, and psychological safety.
– Manage talent density by hiring well, addressing underperformance directly, and retaining strong performers through meaningful development.
– Work with the global Head of Finance Operations to turn strategy into local operating plans and OKRs.
– Ensure managers understand their goals, priorities, and decision-making scope.
– Represent Bangalore’s capacity, capabilities, and constraints in global planning and resourcing discussions.
– Own core service metrics, including accuracy, processing cycle times, SLA adherence, cost per transaction, and employee satisfaction.
– Run a continuous improvement cadence using process reviews, root-cause analysis, and structured remediation.
– Apply Lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent process improvement methods as part of the operating model.
– Partner with FinOps Strategic Enablement on AI and automation opportunities after process issues are addressed.
– Build operating models, service catalogues, tiering, and SLAs that can support 2x–10x volume growth without proportional headcount growth.
– Maintain finance systems, controls, and data quality standards suitable for a public-company environment.
– Strengthen internal controls with Accounting, SOX, and Internal Audit, and manage remediation of control risks.
– Ensure compliance with regulatory, tax, and entity-level reporting requirements for India-based legal entities.
– Build trusted relationships with Finance Operations, Accounting, Legal, HR, and Engineering.
– Communicate roadmap progress, blockers, and outcomes clearly using strong written and verbal communication.
– Navigate ambiguity and competing priorities while aligning stakeholders across time zones.
### Required Skills
– 18+ years of relevant experience in Finance Operations, Accounting Operations, Shared Services, or Business Finance, including experience in a GCC, captive, or SDC environment.
– Experience leading managers of managers and teams of 40+ across multiple functional areas.
– Demonstrated success improving a Finance Operations organisation with measurable outcomes.
– Deep expertise in one or more of the following: Accounts Payable, Payroll, Travel & Expense, Accounts Receivable/Billing, Monetisation/Revenue Operations, or Corporate Controllership.
– Hands-on experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or formal process redesign.
– Proven track record of driving AI and automation adoption in Finance Operations or Shared Services.
– Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present to senior leadership and reconcile stakeholder perspectives in writing.
– Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
### Preferred Skills
– Experience at a high-growth technology company or fintech.
– Familiarity with Oracle Fusion, Workday, Anaplan, or similar enterprise finance systems.
– Experience leading distributed teams across multiple time zones with U.S. and global counterparts.
– Working knowledge of India-specific regulatory requirements such as TDS, GST, FEMA, and labour law as they relate to Finance Operations.

### FinOps Responsibilities
– Track and improve service metrics such as accuracy, cycle time, SLA adherence, cost per transaction, and employee satisfaction.
– Improve operating efficiency so the organisation can scale volume 2x–10x without proportional headcount growth.
– Partner on AI and automation opportunities through FinOps Strategic Enablement.
– Maintain strong finance systems, controls, and data quality standards across the Bangalore hub.
