# Operations Controlling Manager

## About the Role
This finance role is based at Head Office, Mumbai and supports operations cost deliverables through analysis, KPI tracking, forecasting, reporting, and cost governance. It covers cost control at country, regional, branch, and area level, with 25% travel required.
The position works closely with Operations teams at HQC and regional levels, along with finance and accounts, business, IT, controlling, systems, regional management, and other related DHL Group functions. Its focus is to strengthen visibility and control of direct costs, improve productivity, and support commercial KPI improvement across first mile, last mile, and middle mile operations, excluding aviation-related costs.
## Key Responsibilities
– Prepare operations cost MIS, analysis, and reporting aligned to targets.
– Monitor and control direct costs, and identify savings opportunities with Operations, Controlling, Systems, and regional teams.
– Support productivity improvement initiatives and cost-saving projects.
– Build cost forecast formats and processes, including mid-month forecasts based on revenue forecasts and volume trends.
– Support budget preparation and variance analysis with business, IT, and controlling teams.
– Produce forecast variance reporting and track progress against planned cost-saving deliverables.
– Support cost initiatives across pickup and delivery, sorting, ground network for ground and air products, hub sorting, handling, clearing, and network supplies for first mile, last mile, and middle mile operations, excluding aviation-related costs.
– Lead, mentor, and evaluate cross-functional teams; set goals, provide feedback, and identify training needs.
– Help build revenue discipline across teams to meet deliverables.
## Required Skills
– Graduate/Post Graduate with significant experience, or a CA, CMA, or MBA in Finance.
– 5–8 years of experience in planning, budgeting, MIS, and analysis.
– Proven experience in financial planning and controlling.
– Analytical skills and certification in Financial Management.
– Understanding of operations cost drivers, accounting systems, and financial systems.
– Advanced proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
– Strong financial modelling, data analytics, and reporting skills.
– Strong strategic thinking, collaboration, adaptability, and problem-solving skills.

## FinOps Responsibilities
– Manage direct cost reporting, analysis, and MIS across country, regional, branch, and area levels.
– Track cost and margin targets, with a focus on forecast accuracy.
– Build and maintain cost forecasts, including mid-month updates based on revenue and volume trends.
– Support budgeting, variance analysis, and forecast variance reporting.
– Identify cost-saving opportunities and support their execution.
– Improve cost governance and KPI tracking for operations.
– Support productivity improvement initiatives with Operations and regional stakeholders.
– Manage cost initiatives across first mile, last mile, and middle mile operations, excluding aviation-related costs.
