## About the Role

Dotmatics is hiring a Cloud FinOps Analyst to own the operational health, architectural understanding, and cost optimization of its cloud environments. The role exists to connect infrastructure decisions to spend, giving engineering and leadership the visibility needed to make cost-conscious decisions at scale.

You will work closely with engineering, finance, and executive stakeholders, serving as the main point of contact for cloud cost and operations questions. The role also supports cloud governance, reporting, and cross-functional alignment on operational processes and roadmap decisions with infrastructure impact.

## Key Responsibilities

– Develop a detailed understanding of cloud architecture across major infrastructure components.
– Link architectural decisions to cost drivers and build models that explain how system behavior affects spend.
– Identify cost anomalies, inefficiencies, and optimization opportunities across compute, storage, networking, and managed services.
– Build dashboards and reporting to provide visibility into cloud cost trends.
– Define and enforce cloud governance practices, including tagging standards, resource lifecycle management, and rightsizing.
– Review architectural decisions with engineering teams for cost impact before and after deployment.
– Maintain runbooks and documentation for operational data management processes.
– Serve as the main contact for cloud cost and operations questions from engineering, finance, and executive stakeholders.
– Translate technical findings into clear, business-focused recommendations.
– Collaborate with engineering leadership on roadmap decisions with infrastructure and cost implications.
– Support handoffs and alignment across shared operational responsibilities.

## Required Skills

– 5+ years of experience in cloud operations, cloud architecture, or a related technical infrastructure role.
– Demonstrated experience analyzing and optimizing cloud spend at enterprise scale.
– Strong Python skills, particularly for data science and report generation frameworks.
– Hands-on experience with AWS or Databricks.
– Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures, including containerization, serverless, managed databases, and distributed systems.
– Experience with observability and monitoring platforms such as Datadog, CloudWatch, or equivalent.
– Ability to communicate technical findings clearly in written and visual form for executive audiences.

## Preferred Skills

– Multi-cloud experience.
– Experience in life sciences, pharma, or regulated cloud environments, including GxP or 21 CFR Part 11 contexts.
– Familiarity with FinOps frameworks and cloud cost management tools such as CloudHealth, Apptio, or native cloud cost tools.
– Prior experience in a high-growth SaaS or enterprise software company.
– Relevant certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, GCP Professional Cloud Architect, or FinOps Certified Practitioner.
