## About the Role
This position sits within Cloud and AI Engineering, supporting software and service delivery across Woven by Toyota and the wider Toyota organization. The team’s focus is to improve productivity and accelerate delivery while keeping safety in mind.
The role is for a FinOps practitioner with hands-on experience in public cloud, GitHub, and DevOps. You will help translate FinOps principles into practical solutions through cloud and tool governance, automation, and data pipelines that create clear, actionable insights.
The work centers on company-wide cost optimization and cost allocation best practices. You will collaborate with senior leaders, engineering teams, business stakeholders, FinOps, and the Cloud & AI Business Operations Team.
## Key Responsibilities
– Support the architecture of public cloud environments and cost optimization efforts for multiple engineering teams using Infrastructure as Code best practices.
– Partner with FinOps and engineering teams to improve cloud usage and reduce cost.
– Design, implement, and maintain cost dashboards for all engineering teams, including access management.
– Drive a FinOps culture across the organization with the Cloud & AI Business Operations Team.
– Review and improve the current codebase and infrastructure deployment pipeline.
– Build automation, governance, and data pipeline solutions that turn cloud and cost data into actionable insights.
## Required Skills
– Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience.
– Experience writing code in Python, Go, Java, JavaScript, Shell, or a similar language.
– Experience architecting, deploying, and operating solutions on AWS or GCP.
– Experience designing, implementing, and/or maintaining cloud cost optimization solutions.
– Experience with data modification and massaging.
– Ability to analyze requirements and design and implement automation for routine tasks.
– Strong interest in platform engineering and/or SRE topics, including automation, application/platform management, performance assessment, and monitoring.
– Strong interest in cloud cost management and cost optimization.
– Ability to speak and write in English and Japanese.
## Preferred Skills
– Hands-on experience with cloud-native tools and technologies, Kubernetes, containers, and Infrastructure as Code.
– FinOps certification or professional certifications on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
– Hands-on experience with Databricks, Snowflake, or PowerBI.
– Experience working cross-functionally with Finance and Accounting teams.
– Hands-on experience with troubleshooting and incident management.
– Experience with data structures, algorithms, and software design.
