# Cloud FinOps Specialist

## About the Role
As a key member of the Global Cloud Services organization, the Cloud FinOps Specialist will lead the governance team responsible for managing public cloud costs and usage. This role aims to enhance the company’s cloud financial operations through strategic forecasting, cost optimization, and collaboration with various teams, including cloud engineers, product managers, and customer experience professionals. The position is crucial for ensuring efficient resource utilization while supporting business objectives related to customer migration.

The Cloud FinOps Specialist will be instrumental in establishing long-term plans and monthly forecasts for public cloud expenses, identifying optimization opportunities, and ensuring alignment with engineering teams for effective resource management. This role will also report directly to the Director of Cloud FinOps.

## Key Responsibilities
– Monitor, analyze, and optimize cloud spending across AWS, GCP, and Azure.
– Collaborate with engineering teams to implement cost-effective cloud solutions.
– Develop and maintain cloud cost forecasting models.
– Manage commit-based discounts to optimize long-term cloud costs.
– Provide visibility into cloud expenses through dashboards and reports.
– Define and implement cost allocations to measure cost metrics per customer and instance.
– Establish and promote best practices for cloud cost governance.
– Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement in cost management.
– Work with cloud service providers on demand planning and capacity reservation.
– Collaborate with the Go-To-Market (GTM) team on customer migration planning and tracking.

– Familiarity with commit-based discount strategies.
