# Senior Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis
## About the Role
As a Senior Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis at Cohere, you will play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining comprehensive financial frameworks that support our rapid business growth. This position focuses on establishing forecasting processes, conducting variance analysis, and providing critical insights to executive leadership. You will collaborate closely with department heads to align financial needs with business objectives and drive process improvements across financial workflows.
Your role is essential in bridging high-level strategic vision with detailed departmental execution. You will also engage directly with cross-functional teams on strategic initiatives, ensuring compliance with financial standards and controls, while preparing impactful materials for Board meetings and C-suite discussions.
## Key Responsibilities
– Develop and manage comprehensive departmental forecasting processes.
– Build scalable financial models and planning frameworks.
– Perform variance analysis and provide actionable financial insights.
– Create and maintain financial reporting dashboards for leadership.
– Drive automation in FP&A workflows and promote process improvements.
– Collaborate with cross-functional teams on strategic initiatives.
– Ensure compliance with financial reporting standards and internal controls.
– Execute annual and multi-year long-range planning processes.
– Oversee monthly and quarterly business review processes.
– Define and track key SaaS/Tech metrics in collaboration with technical teams.
– Act as the financial resource for departments, supporting headcount planning and operational expenses.
– Prepare strategic materials for Board meetings and executive forums.
## Required Skills
– Over 12 years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis.
– Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or CFA preferred.
– Strong proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting.
– Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) and BI tools (Tableau, Power BI).
– Excellent analytical skills to interpret complex financial data.
– Strong communication skills with the ability to present data-driven narratives.
– Experience in building FP&A functions in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
– In-depth understanding of GAAP accounting and financial statements interaction.
## Preferred Skills
– Experience in technology companies, particularly with engineering teams.
– Background in startup environments, especially in scaling financial operations.
– Familiarity with SaaS metrics and AI business models.
– Experience with fundraising and investor relations.
– Knowledge of financial systems and automation solutions implementation.
