## About the Role
Sapiens is seeking a Senior FinOps Analyst to join the Cloud Services Office (CSO) within the FinOps & Demand Management function, reporting to the Director of FinOps. The role is based in Bangalore and follows a flexible hybrid working model with both remote and in-office work.
This position exists to strengthen cloud financial governance, improve demand visibility, and support cost optimisation across the organisation. It sits at the intersection of finance, technology, and operations, helping ensure cloud spend is managed with clear accountability and aligned to business priorities.
The analyst will work closely with Finance (P&L), engineering, and operations stakeholders, while also supporting executive reporting and quarterly transformation reviews. The role is expected to improve transparency across cloud consumption, strengthen forecasting, and support better resource and budget decisions.
## Key Responsibilities
– Own cloud financial governance across business units, including cost visibility, optimisation, forecasting, anomaly detection, and spend accountability.
– Maintain FinOps policies, standards, and controls to support disciplined cloud consumption.
– Identify overspend, waste, and inefficiencies, then work with engineering and operations teams to drive remediation.
– Lead the demand intake process, prioritising requests and aligning them with execution capacity.
– Partner with engineering and operations on capacity planning and resource allocation.
– Deliver monthly FinOps reports for executive and C-suite stakeholders covering spend, budget variance, forecast accuracy, and optimisation progress.
– Build dashboards and reporting rhythms that provide real-time visibility into financial and demand performance.
– Translate financial and operational data into clear recommendations for senior stakeholders and board-level updates.
– Act as the main contact between CSO, Finance, engineering, and operations on cloud cost and demand topics.
– Facilitate weekly demand reviews and FinOps governance meetings, ensuring actions are tracked and owners are accountable.
– Support the Head of CSO in quarterly transformation milestone reviews and board-level reporting as required.
– Contribute to broader transformation and continuous improvement initiatives within CSO.
## Required Skills
– Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Business, Computer Science, or a related field.
– 4–7 years of experience in FinOps, cloud financial management, or a related role in a technology or cloud-native environment.
– A proven track record of cloud cost optimisation with measurable results and strong budget adherence.
– Experience in demand management, resource planning, or operational governance within a cloud services context.
– Proven ability to produce executive-level financial and operational reporting.
– Familiarity with FinOps tools such as CloudHealth, Apptio, Cloudability, AWS Cost Explorer, or Azure Cost Management.
– Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
– Ability to translate financial data into business language.
– Collaborative approach across engineering, finance, and operations, including influencing without direct authority.
– Proactive, self-directed, highly accountable, and able to manage competing priorities under pressure.
– Basic understanding of Generative AI and LLMs, including practical productivity and business use cases.
– Experience using AI-powered tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, or similar.
– Awareness of responsible AI practices, including privacy and security when handling enterprise financial and operational data.
## Preferred Skills
– FinOps Certified Practitioner (FinOps Foundation).
– Cloud certifications in AWS, Azure, or GCP.

## FinOps Responsibilities
– Govern cloud financial performance through visibility, optimisation, forecasting, anomaly detection, and accountability.
– Enforce FinOps policies, standards, and controls.
– Drive remediation of overspend and waste with engineering and operations.
– Keep budget variance within ±5% of approved budget and support 10–15% annual cost optimisation.
– Run demand intake and prioritisation within a 5–10 business day SLA, with at least 95% of items assessed and tracked.
– Support capacity planning and data-driven resource allocation.
– Produce monthly financial reporting, dashboards, and executive updates on spend, forecast accuracy, and optimisation progress.
– Support quarterly transformation milestone reviews and board-level reporting.
