# About the Role
This full-time, onsite position in the Denver Metro Area sits at the intersection of finance, engineering, and cloud consumption. It is responsible for making cloud valuation and cost estimation a standard part of the project lifecycle, so new initiatives are evaluated with financial impact in mind from the start.
The role works closely with architects, engineers, and business leaders to convert technical requirements into cost projections and decision-ready reporting. It also supports AI delivery by measuring value, ROI, and actual spend against initial forecasts, helping leadership make faster, better-informed investment decisions.
# Key Responsibilities
– Embed cloud cost estimation into engineering intake and project approval workflows.
– Translate technical inputs such as IOPS, data transfer, and compute requirements into predictive cost models.
– Build reporting that compares projected and actual costs for new initiatives.
– Track and present financial and operational metrics to senior leadership.
– Assess ROI and value capture across the AI delivery lifecycle.
– Identify cost-avoidance opportunities, including serverless and Graviton-based architectures, before resources are provisioned.
– Develop workflows, templates, and user guides that clarify roles and responsibilities from intake through feasibility review.
– Partner with architects, engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders on project vetting and financial analysis.
# Required Skills
– Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
– At least 5 years of experience in finance, corporate development, or valuation-focused roles.
– Strong Excel-based financial modeling, business case development, and valuation skills.
– Experience using SQL and BI tools to work with large billing datasets and metadata.
– Direct professional experience with AI/ML, including LLMs, prompt engineering, and the cost drivers of compute and data pipelines.
– Hands-on experience building AI chatbots, using low-code/no-code platforms, or leveraging APIs to create internal productivity tools.
– Strong project management, organization, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
– Ability to translate complex financial concepts into practical engineering guidance.
– Strategic process design skills with an emphasis on rigor, scalability, and clear workflows.
– A player-coach mindset with the ability to train business leaders on technology valuation, cloud consumption, and architecture tradeoffs.
– Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP billing platforms and cloud architecture.
– Experience building financial and valuation models for technical infrastructure or SaaS products.

– Cloud AI certifications such as AWS Certified AI Practitioner, Google Cloud Professional ML Engineer, or Microsoft Azure AI Fundamentals.
– MBA, CFA, or an equivalent advanced professional credential.

# FinOps Responsibilities
– Standardize cloud cost estimation within engineering intake and approval processes.
– Build cost models and financial projections from technical design inputs.

– Base salary: $83,950 – $119,900 per year
