In this role, you will drive financial planning, forecasting, and cost optimization for cloud and AI infrastructure, ensuring investments scale efficiently and strategically. You will partner with Engineering, Product, and Finance teams to translate technical decisions into measurable financial outcomes and support data-driven decision-making. The position requires building detailed financial models, monitoring usage trends, and implementing cost-saving initiatives while maintaining strong visibility into infrastructure spend. Accountabilities
Own end-to-end budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis for cloud and AI infrastructure spend across multiple vendors.
Develop and maintain detailed bottoms-up financial models, including long-range forecasts, cost driver analyses, and investment scenario modeling.
Partner with cross-functional teams to design and implement cloud cost optimization initiatives, including savings plans and resource right-sizing.
Support contract negotiations by modeling cloud usage, pricing, and discount structures to maximize efficiency.
Build and maintain cloud & AI unit economics reporting, including cost allocation models linking cloud spend to product impact.
Enhance financial management and spend prediction through improved tools, automation, ETL, APIs, and forecasting models.
Develop dashboards and executive reporting to track cloud spend, efficiency metrics, and KPIs.
Requirements
5+ years of experience in strategic finance roles within high-growth software companies.
Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and variance analysis skills with proven accuracy managing hosting budgets.
Proficiency in dashboard building, data modeling, and financial reporting.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
Experience working asynchronously as part of a fully remote, distributed team.
Preferred: 3+ years managing cloud cost or partnering closely with Engineering teams, hands-on experience with AWS/GCP billing tools, knowledge of cloud pricing models, BI tools experience, SQL familiarity, and FinOps certifications.
