# Senior Specialist, Technology Business Management
**Location:** Gurugram (hybrid; at least 3 days per week in the office)
## About the Role
Marsh is hiring a Senior Specialist, Technology Business Management within its AMS Technology organization. The role reports to the Leader – IT Management and is responsible for managing the technology function’s P&L, external spend, and financial discipline. This is a business management position within Technology, not a finance or accounting role.
The position exists to help technology leaders plan, allocate, and control spend across software, services, contractors, and related procurement activity. It works closely with FP&A, Controllership, Procurement/Sourcing, vendors, and audit stakeholders to keep budgets accurate, invoices controlled, and forecasting aligned with business plans.
## Key Responsibilities
– Own the technology P&L and manage annual and quarterly forecasts for software, SaaS, professional services, and contractor spend.
– Track actuals against budget each month, identify variances, and prepare financial models for items such as contract closures and transition costs.
– Build bottoms-up forecasts with technology leaders and maintain long-range planning inputs.
– Create, code, approve, and close purchase orders in Oracle EBS, including AMS-related POs, and manage the full PO lifecycle.
– Serve as the main contact for procurement-related questions within the technology organization.
– Manage invoice workflows in Tungsten Network, resolve discrepancies, and ensure invoices are submitted, reviewed, and approved on time.
– Maintain vendor trackers, support contract compliance, and ensure contractor rates align with contract terms and statements of work.
– Keep software tracking up to date, including one-time credits versus savings.
– Use Planview for capacity planning, demand management, portfolio visibility, and monthly reforecasting.
– Coordinate labor and non-labor loads, align resource forecasts with project plans and budgets, and remove offboarded resources from Planview.
– Partner with FP&A, Controllership, and Procurement/Sourcing on monthly close, quarterly forecasting, annual planning, accruals, capitalization, renewals, and sourcing.
– Support internal and external audit requests related to technology spend and explain budget, forecast, actuals, invoicing, receipting, and GL differences.
– Build dashboards and reporting to improve visibility into budget health, spend trends, and governance.
## Required Skills
– 6+ years of experience in technology business management, IT finance, program management, or related business operations within a technology organization.
– Experience managing multi-million-dollar budgets and owning a P&L.
– Hands-on experience with Oracle EBS, including Purchase Orders, Requisitions, and Accounts Payable modules.
– Working knowledge of Tungsten Network or a similar e-invoicing/invoice automation platform.
– Experience with Planview or similar portfolio/resource management tools such as Clarity or ServiceNow SPM.
– Strong understanding of the purchase-to-pay lifecycle.
– Proven ability to partner with FP&A, Controllership, and Procurement teams.
– Strong financial acumen, including reading financial statements, building forecasts, and performing variance analysis.
– Strong proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets and data analysis.
– Experience in a large enterprise or Fortune 500 technology organization.
– Background in IT consulting, technology operations, or enterprise PMO.
– Familiarity with software asset management (SAM) and SaaS spend optimization.
– Experience with BI/reporting tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
## Preferred Skills
– PMP, MBA, or another relevant professional certification.

## FinOps Responsibilities
– Manage and forecast technology spend across software, SaaS, professional services, and contractors.
– Enforce spend governance policies and approval workflows.
– Monitor actuals versus budget and flag risks or opportunities early.
– Identify opportunities to optimize spend, consolidate vendors, and improve cost efficiency.
– Support contractor cost allocation, invoice validation, and alignment between budget, forecast, and actuals.
– Maintain leadership visibility into budget health, spend trends, and long-range planning inputs.
