As a trusted advisor in digital transformation, we’re expanding our team and seeking a highly skilled FinOps Implementation Consultant. This role is crucial for delivering successful deployments of IBM Cloudability and related FinOps solutions for our enterprise clients. It requires a strong mix of technical expertise in cloud cost optimization, a deep understanding of cloud-native environments, and exceptional client-facing consulting skills. You’ll guide customers through the entire implementation process, from initial requirements and architecture design to hands-on integration, configuration, and knowledge transfer.
What You’ll Do
Lead Implementation & Integration — drive the end-to-end deployment of IBM Cloudability for multi-cloud cost visibility, allocation, and optimization. Integrate data from public cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) and, when applicable, configure Kubecost for Kubernetes cost monitoring.
Solution Design & Strategy — conduct requirements workshops, design and architect scalable FinOps solutions, and implement tagging/labeling methodologies for accurate chargeback/showback reporting.
Client Engagement & Enablement — serve as the primary technical point of contact during delivery; provide hands-on training, mentorship, and clear documentation including runbooks and operational workflows.
Optimization & Value Realization — identify and quantify cost-saving opportunities, translate usage/efficiency patterns into business recommendations, and demonstrate platform value to stakeholders.
Advanced Technical Support — troubleshoot complex integration/configuration issues; stay current with Cloudability, Kubecost, and FinOps developments to provide ongoing client value.
What You’ll Bring
Experience: 3+ years hands-on in cloud cost management or FinOps consulting; demonstrated client-facing implementation experience.
Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of AWS/Azure/GCP billing models; proficiency with IBM Cloudability; familiarity with Kubecost and Kubernetes cost tooling.
Skills: Kubernetes administration experience (OpenShift, EKS, AKS, or GKE) is a major plus; proficiency with Linux, YAML, Helm, and CLI deployments.
Professional: Strong analytical, communication, presentation, and project management skills; ability to engage engineers and executives.
Preferred Qualifications
FinOps Certified Practitioner (FOCP) or related certifications; cloud provider certifications (AWS, Azure, etc.); automation/scripting (Python, Bash, Terraform); experience with IT financial management, budgeting, forecasting.
