About the Role
We are seeking an experienced D365 Finance & Operations Functional Consultant (Finance) to join our internal transformation programme focused on delivering high-quality finance capabilities, process optimisation, and system enhancements across SCC’s operations. The FinOps Functional Consultant (Finance) will play a central role in designing, configuring, and supporting finance modules within D365 F&O, ensuring strong compliance, operational excellence, and improved financial reporting. You will work closely with Finance, Accounting, Procurement, and wider business stakeholders to analyse requirements, solve business problems, and ensure that D365 F&O aligns with SCC’s global financial strategy. The role provides broad exposure to core finance processes, integrations, Power Platform features, and enterprise automation opportunities.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with Finance, Accounting, AP/AR, FP&A, and operational stakeholders to gather, assess, and document financial business requirements.
Translate requirements into scalable, compliant, and future-proof functional designs.
Lead functional configuration and enhancement of key finance modules:
General Ledger (GL)
Accounts Payable (AP)
Accounts Receivable (AR)
Fixed Assets (FA)
Cash & Bank Management
Budgeting
Cost Accounting / Financial Dimensions
Project & Accounting
Tax (VAT, withholding, compliance rules)
Support integrations with peripheral systems (e.g., Basware, MySCC, banking platforms, reporting systems).
Create functional documents including Fit-Gap analysis, FDDs, test cases, and training materials.
Work with technical teams to guide development, integrations, and automation of financial workflows.
Support data migration activities: data templates, validations, reconciliation, and cutover plans.
Participate in UAT cycles, resolve functional issues, and support business stakeholders during testing.
Maintain understanding of D365 FinOps Finance roadmap and evaluate new features to recommend adoption.
Offer continuous improvement ideas to increase automation, control, and financial process efficiency.
Contribute to the design of Finance security roles, internal controls, and audit-compliant processes.
Provide post‑go‑live support, troubleshooting, and incident resolution for Finance modules.
Deliver knowledge transfer sessions and training to finance users and support teams.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
Required Skills
Over 2 years of experience implementing or supporting finance modules in D365.
Strong understanding of end‑to‑end financial processes, including:
Procure-to-Pay (P2P)
Order-to-Cash (O2C)
Record-to-Report (R2R)
Financial period close processes
Financial controls, compliance, and audit practices
Hands-on experience with configuration and setup of D365 F&O Finance modules.
Experience eliciting and documenting finance requirements, reporting needs, and process improvements.
Ability to create documentation: user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, functional specs.
Solid communication skills with strong English writing and speaking capabilities.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Visio for process modelling.
Experience working with Azure DevOps or JIRA for requirements, tasks, and release management.
Analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with financial data.
Ability to collaborate effectively with Finance teams, PMs, developers, and external vendors.
Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple parallel finance activities.
Proactive, adaptable mindset with strong customer service orientation.
