## About the Role

The Financial Operations (FinOps) Lead will support the VA Enterprise Cloud Brokerage Service by overseeing cloud financial governance for a large federal environment. The role focuses on aligning cloud spending, procurement, chargeback/showback, forecasting, optimization, and compliance with VA fiscal policy and FinOps practices.

This position works closely with finance, procurement, technical, and business stakeholders to provide executive-level reporting and financial insight. It is a remote role, but candidates must live within 60 miles of the Washington, DC or Falls Church, Virginia office. Relocation is not provided. Travel to VA facilities nationwide is required four times per year, and overall travel is less than 10%. The schedule is 40 hours per week, and the start date is targeted for November 2026, pending contract award.

## Key Responsibilities

– Lead cloud financial governance for the VA Enterprise Cloud Brokerage Service.
– Support chargeback and showback processes.
– Perform reconciliation, variance analysis, and forecasting.
– Oversee cloud cost optimization, anomaly detection, and consumption trend analysis.
– Support procurement planning for cloud credits and financial commitments.
– Build executive dashboards and optimization reports.
– Ensure alignment with VA fiscal policy and FinOps best practices.

## Required Skills

– 7+ years of related experience.
– At least 7 years of IT financial management experience.
– At least 4 years of cloud FinOps experience.
– Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, IT, or a related field.
– FinOps Certified Practitioner (FOCP).
– One provider-specific cloud financial management certification, such as AWS Cloud Financial Management or Azure.
– Experience with federal finance, budgeting, and oversight.
– Experience managing $30M+ in annual cloud spend within financial operations.
– Strong dashboarding and data visualization skills.
– Proficiency with financial analysis tools.
– Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
– Strong modeling and forecasting ability.
– Effective communication with technical and business teams.
– U.S. citizen or Green Card holder.
– Ability to obtain a Public Trust.
– MBI (T2) required.
