## About the Role
This FinOps Engineer position is focused on improving cloud efficiency and reducing costs within a large-scale global Azure environment. The role is based in Bucharest and follows a hybrid arrangement, with two days per week in the office.
You will work across application, platform, infrastructure, and cloud architecture teams to identify optimisation opportunities and support changes that improve cloud usage. The role also involves coordination with offshore teams in multiple countries and acting as a key contact for infrastructure optimisation topics in production environments.
The position combines FinOps, Azure cloud expertise, and infrastructure automation, with a strong emphasis on practical execution and cross-functional collaboration.
## Key Responsibilities
– Analyse Azure subscription usage and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
– Support VM rightsizing, scaling decisions, and workload optimisation, including AKS.
– Contribute to cost reduction initiatives with application, platform, and infrastructure teams.
– Work with landing zones, standard cloud deployment models, and Terraform to strengthen infrastructure automation.
– Help automate applications and environments that are currently deployed manually.
– Collaborate with global cloud architects and offshore teams across multiple countries.
– Serve as a FinOps point of reference for infrastructure optimisation in production.
## Required Skills
– Strong experience with Microsoft Azure cloud environments.
– Solid understanding of FinOps principles.
– Experience with infrastructure automation using Terraform.
– Experience with Kubernetes, preferably AKS.
– Good understanding of cloud networking and infrastructure components.
– Experience in large-scale, multi-country IT organisations.
– Familiarity with change management processes.
– Analytical and proactive approach to problem-solving.
– Ability to work effectively in transversal, multicultural environments.
– Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
– Self-driven mindset with the ability to take initiative and lead optimisation projects end to end.
