This is not a pure consulting or pre-sales role. You will be a trusted FinOps advisor, working directly with customer leadership (CFOs, CIOs, CTOs, FinOps leaders, platform teams), guiding them through FinOps maturity journeys, and helping Cloudgov.ai become deeply embedded in their operating model.
Key Responsibilities
You will actively participate in customer-facing engagements, including discovery calls, onboarding sessions, Proof-of-Value (PoV) programs, architecture reviews, and ongoing governance reviews. You will help customers translate Cloudgov.ai insights into real operational change, measurable savings, and sustainable FinOps practices.
You will lead and support customer onboarding and adoption, ensuring customers understand not just how to use Cloudgov.ai, but why certain FinOps decisions matter. This includes helping customers design tagging strategies, cost allocation models, budget ownership, showback/chargeback mechanisms, and governance policies aligned with their org structure.
You will work closely with customers to establish or mature FinOps practices inside their organization. This includes defining FinOps operating models, RACI ownership across Finance, Engineering, and Platform teams, cadence structures (weekly/monthly reviews), and KPIs tied to business outcomes.
You will act as a FinOps thought leader in customer meetings, explaining complex cost behaviors across AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes, data platforms, and SaaS services in simple, executive-friendly language. You will help customers move from reactive cost visibility to proactive, policy-driven optimization.
You will partner deeply with Sales and Solutions Engineering during PoVs and late-stage deals—helping articulate value, validate savings opportunities, handle FinOps-specific objections, and build trust with senior stakeholders. You will often be the “FinOps authority in the room.”
You will collaborate with Product and Engineering teams by bringing real customer pain points, usage patterns, and feedback into roadmap discussions. Your insights will directly influence Cloudgov.ai’s FinOps capabilities, AI agents, governance models, and reporting frameworks.
You will contribute to Cloudgov.ai’s external FinOps presence—helping with blogs, whitepapers, webinars, customer case studies, conference talks, workshops, and internal enablement content. You will help position Cloudgov.ai as a FinOps authority, not just a software platform.
You will help enable internal teams by training SDRs, AEs, partners, and customer success teams on FinOps concepts, customer narratives, maturity models, and how Cloudgov.ai maps to real-world FinOps challenges.

Required Skills & Experience
You have hands-on experience with FinOps practices across cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP), including cost allocation, budgets, forecasting, commitment management, optimization, and governance.
You have worked closely with Finance, Engineering, Platform, and Cloud teams, and understand the cultural and operational friction that FinOps is designed to solve.
You are comfortable leading customer discussions, workshops, and executive reviews, and can explain cloud cost and FinOps concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
You have strong familiarity with enterprise cloud architectures, including containers, data platforms, SaaS tooling, and shared services models.
You are execution-oriented and comfortable operating in a fast-moving startup environment, wearing multiple hats when needed.
You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and are confident representing Cloudgov.ai externally.
