FinOps Engineer
for our Hospitality Client based in Bangkok.
Summary :
We are looking for a FinOps Engineer to support our cloud Financial Management activities.
You will work closely with FinOps, Finance and Engineering teams to improve cost transparency, reporting and operational efficiency. This role is execution-oriented and data-driven, with exposure to cloud platforms. This role is fundamental to strengthening and expanding our FinOps practice.
Role Summary:
Financial Governance and cost control:
Monitor cloud spend (AWS, Azure, OCI, GCP) and detect unusual patterns or anomalies
Monitor spend vs budget
Investigate cost spikes and prepare first level explanations.
Escalate risk and findings to the FinOps manager and engineer teams.
Maintain cost allocation and show back models
Track FinOps KPI
Develop dashboards and detailed reports
Participate in technology choices to influence decisions based on estimated costs
Optimization and savings delivery
Identify and support the implementation of cost optimization strategies and collaborate with engineers’ teams on efficient resource usage
Track optimization actions and realized savings
Maintain a savings pipeline and reporting
Forecasting, budgeting and planning
Support cloud cost forecasting with historical data analysis.
Assist with quarterly reforecasting exercises in collaboration with Finance team.
Stakeholder support and documentation
Prepare materials for FinOps review and governance meeting
Document FinOps processes, reports and standards
Respond to cost-related questions from engineering and finance team
Must Have Skillsets:
Bachelor’s degree or Master Degree in Computer Science, or related field
5+years of experience in cloud infrastructure management, ideally in an AWS environment
3+years working FinOps, cloud cost optimization or financial analytics role
AWS cloud practitioner and/or Azure Fundamentals
Exposure to AWS, Azure, OCI, GCP cost and billing tools and third-party FinOps tools
Proficiency in modelling, budgeting and forecasting
Proficiency in Excel, BI tools is a plus (PowerBI, Tableau, AWS Quick Suite)
Strong analytical skills, comfort with large datasets and interpret complex financial metrics in multi-cloud environment
Good understanding of cloud billing concepts
Details –oriented with strong follow-through
Negotiation and collaboration with Engineering
Clear written and verbal communication English
Nice-To-Have:
French speaking, FinOps certified practitioner (or willingness to pursue)
AWS solution Architect (or willingness to pursue)
Scripting/programming abilities, IaC tools
