## About the Role

Trilyon is seeking an experienced FinOps Engineer to support AWS cloud cost optimization and financial management for a financial services client. The role is focused on improving cost visibility, reducing cloud spend, and strengthening financial governance across a large, multi-account AWS environment.

You will work closely with Finance and Engineering teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and cost reporting. The position also involves presenting savings opportunities and key performance indicators to senior stakeholders.

This role is based in New York or New Jersey, with remote work available within the US for exceptional candidates.

## Key Responsibilities

– Own AWS cost optimization across a large, multi-account environment.
– Identify and deliver cost savings through rightsizing, Savings Plans, Reserved Instances, and storage optimization.
– Manage AWS cost visibility, billing, tagging, and governance.
– Partner with Finance and Engineering teams on budgeting, forecasting, and cost reporting.
– Present cost-saving opportunities and KPI updates to senior stakeholders.

## Required Skills

– 8+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure or cloud financial management.
– 4+ years of AWS cost optimization experience at scale.
– Strong knowledge of AWS Cost Explorer, CUR, Budgets, Savings Plans, and AWS Organizations.
– Experience with financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
– Proficiency in SQL, Python, and Terraform or CloudFormation.
– Experience in financial services, including banking, payments, capital markets, insurance, or fintech.
– Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field.

## Preferred Skills

– FinOps certification.
– AWS certifications.
– Experience with CloudHealth, Cloudability, CloudZero, or Kubecost.
