FinOps Analyst
position. This is a 100% REMOTE set-up position & comes with benefits, 401K & some accrued PTO. The Ideal Candidate Would Support development of Cost Models in federal or regulated environment.
Job Title: FinOps Analyst
Remote Job
Key Responsibilities
• Support development of IT service cost models (services, offerings, cost structures)
• Map cost centers to services and service offerings using CSDM constructs
• Define unit costs, rates, and Units of Measure (UoM)
• Support design and implementation of chargeback/showback models
• Analyze cost drivers using CMDB, APM, and financial data sources
• Aggregate and reconcile data across multiple systems
• Identify data gaps, normalization needs, and transformation requirements
• Support pilot execution, scenario modeling, and validation exercises
• Develop dashboards and reports for cost transparency and service consumption
• Support governance activities (decision logs, stakeholder workshops, KPI tracking)
• Assist with documentation of rate models, assumptions, and methodologies
• Support communications related to rate rollout and financial model adoption
Required Skills & Experience
• 3–6 years experience in financial analysis, IT finance, or FinOps
• Experience with cost modeling, budgeting, or chargeback/showback frameworks
• Strong Excel and financial modeling skills
• Experience with data analysis, reconciliation, and reporting
• Understanding of IT services and cost structures
• Experience working with stakeholders to validate assumptions and outputs
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Desired Skills & Domain Experience
• Experience with TBM (Technology Business Management) frameworks
• Experience with ServiceNow (SPM, CMDB, ITFM/Proven Optics)
• Familiarity with CSDM and service-based costing models
• Experience in federal or regulated environments
• Exposure to dashboarding/reporting tools (Power BI, ServiceNow, etc.)
• Experience supporting financial governance and audit readiness
