Job Purpose
To strengthen financial control by ensuring robust accounting, disciplined payment and cost control, and effective financial operations (FinOps), while supporting finance leadership with reliable reporting and analysis.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Control
• Support the preparation and review of monthly financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to accounting policies and IFRS.
• Act as a key sparring partner to the Head of Accounting & Tax on technical accounting matters, audits, and review of outputs from external accounting firms.
• Support month-end close processes, including accruals, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes, controls, and documentation.
Payment Control & Working Capital
• Support payment controlling activities, including monitoring cash outflows, vendor payments, and adherence to approval frameworks.
• Support credit control activities, including monitoring AR ageing, follow-up on overdue balances, and coordination with commercial teams.
• Provide visibility on working capital movements and payment trends across EMEA entities.
FinOps & Cost Discipline
• Support on insights into spending trends, cost drivers, and cost-saving initiatives, with a strong focus on operational and IT-related spend.
• Support cost allocation, charge-back mechanisms, transfer pricing to improve cost transparency.
• Support the monitoring of business performance against budget and business plan with a focus on cost control and financial efficiency.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Projects
• Support in the annual budgeting process, coordinating inputs from Sales, Operations, IT, and HR.
• Support forecasting and financial controlling for construction and infrastructure projects across the group.
Systems & Data
• Act as an advanced Oracle NetSuite user, supporting finance operations, reporting, and process optimisation.
• Support ERP-related improvements, including data quality, reporting structures, and user adoption.
• Perform ad hoc financial and operational analysis as required by senior management.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Audit, Finance, or Economics.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in accounting, audit, controlling, or consulting.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and IFRS reporting standards.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle NetSuite is highly valued.
• Strong Excel and MS Office skills; comfort working with financial systems and data.
• High proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial topics clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented, structured, and comfortable operating in a hands-on, fast-growing environment.
