# Finance Analyst – OPEX Support

## About the Role
We are seeking a Finance Analyst to join our team to provide OPEX support for the Splunk Product Organization. In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting forecasting and reporting activities, which play a crucial part in influencing strategic investment decisions. Your work will involve collaborating with key stakeholders across Engineering, Product Management, HR, and accounting. Additionally, you’ll focus on improving budgeting processes, month-end closes, and variance analysis, ultimately driving compliance and operational excellence within the organization.

## Key Responsibilities
– Support budgeting and OPEX management, assisting Engineering leadership in prioritization and decision-making.
– Collaborate with business partners to establish best practices and streamline financial processes.
– Model headcount costs and discretionary expenses to identify opportunities for spend optimization.
– Improve forecasting accuracy through advanced data analytics and cross-functional cooperation.
– Assist in monthly close processes, including accruals, variance analysis, and approvals of POs, invoices, and requisitions.
– Conduct ad-hoc financial analyses as required.
– Understand GAAP and accounting policies’ impact on expense forecasts.

## Required Skills
– Bachelor’s degree in Finance or a related business field.
– Minimum of 3 years of proven finance experience.
– Intermediate Excel skills.
– Proficiency with finance ERPs and financial planning software (e.g., Oracle Hyperion Essbase, NetSuite, Anaplan).
– Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
– Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

## Preferred Skills
– Previous experience in OPEX or COGS is advantageous.
– Familiarity with SaaS business models.
– Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and automation.
