## About the Role
The EMEA FinOps Lead will establish and lead the FinOps capability across EMEA Technology. The role is responsible for improving governance, visibility, and optimization of cloud and AI-related technology consumption so that spending is transparent, attributable, and aligned with business priorities.
As cloud services, GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, and other AI-enabled solutions continue to expand across the region, this role will act as the EMEA focal point for Cloud FinOps, AI FinOps, and technology consumption management. It will help shape how usage is governed, measured, optimized, and reported across the business.
The position works closely with Technology Finance, Engineering, Product, Operations, and Global FinOps teams. It sits at the intersection of technology, finance, analytics, and strategy, with a remit that includes financial accountability, cost optimization, and value realization from cloud and AI investments.
## Key Responsibilities
– Build and mature the EMEA Cloud FinOps capability and governance framework.
– Improve visibility into Azure and broader cloud consumption across EMEA Technology.
– Lead cloud cost optimization efforts and identify efficiency opportunities.
– Support forecasting and analysis of cloud consumption trends.
– Promote accountability and ownership of cloud spend across technology teams.
– Establish governance and reporting for AI-related technology consumption.
– Monitor adoption, utilization, and cost trends for GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, and AI platforms.
– Develop transparency and reporting for emerging AI FinOps practices.
– Align EMEA reporting and standards with global AI governance and FinOps teams.
– Create executive dashboards and reporting for cloud and AI consumption.
– Support budget planning and forecasting for cloud and AI services.
– Identify consumption drivers and optimization opportunities.
– Provide leadership with clear, data-driven insights into cloud and AI economics.
– Define metrics that show the business value of cloud and AI investments.
– Track optimization benefits, AI productivity outcomes, adoption, utilization, and ROI.
– Partner with Technology Finance, Product, Engineering, and Operations teams.
– Represent EMEA in Global FinOps, Cloud Economics, and AI FinOps communities.
– Influence stakeholders to adopt more cost-conscious consumption practices.
## Required Skills
– Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Technology, Business, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
– 5+ years of experience in Technology Financial Management (ITFM), FinOps, Cloud Economics, Finance, Technology Operations, or a related area.
– Experience in cloud cost management, technology consumption reporting, budgeting, forecasting, or financial analysis.
– Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to turn complex data into business insight.
– Experience building executive dashboards, scorecards, and management reporting.
– Knowledge of cloud consumption models, preferably Microsoft Azure.
– Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills across technology, finance, and business functions.
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presenting to senior leadership.
– Ability to work effectively in a complex, matrixed, geographically distributed organization.
## Preferred Skills
– FinOps Foundation certification or equivalent FinOps experience.
– Experience with Azure Cost Management, Power BI, Apptio, or similar tools.
– Experience supporting AI-related consumption reporting, including Microsoft Copilot, GitHub Copilot, or other AI platforms.
– Understanding of technology cost allocation, showback/chargeback models, and financial governance.
– Experience identifying and delivering cloud optimization opportunities.
– Knowledge of technology value realization and ROI measurement frameworks.
– Experience in financial services or another highly regulated industry.
