# Director, Cloud FinOps

## About the Role
A global fintech SaaS vendor is seeking a senior Cloud FinOps leader to define and run the financial management strategy for its public cloud environment. This newly created position is responsible for the full cloud financial management framework across the SaaS business, including forecasting, budgeting, cost allocation, and unit economics.
Reporting to senior leadership, the role works across Finance, Engineering, Product, and Operations. It combines strategic ownership with hands-on involvement in dashboards, cost reviews, and chargeback models to improve cloud spend visibility and decision-making.
The primary goal is to strengthen cloud financial control while supporting growth, planning, and operational accountability across the organization.
## Key Responsibilities
– Own and evolve the cloud financial management framework across the SaaS platform
– Lead forecasting, budgeting, cost allocation, and unit economics activities
– Drive cloud cost optimization initiatives, including reserved commitments, rightsizing, and tagging
– Partner with Engineering, CloudOps, and Product to build cost visibility into operational decisions
– Produce executive- and board-level reporting on spend trends, savings progress, and risk
– Establish governance, controls, tagging standards, and approval workflows for cloud cost management
– Lead and develop FinOps analysts and engineers
– Work with Finance and FP&A to ensure cloud costs are reflected accurately in planning and pricing
## Required Skills
– 10–15 years of progressive experience in cloud financial management, cost optimization, or technology finance, ideally in SaaS or large-scale enterprise settings
– 5+ years in a leadership role spanning Finance, Engineering, and Operations
– Strong knowledge of AWS, Azure, and GCP pricing and billing models
– Proven experience building and maturing a FinOps practice
– Strong financial modelling and forecasting skills
– Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
## Preferred Skills
– FinOps Certified Practitioner/Professional or equivalent cloud certification
– MBA or other advanced degree

– Deliver reporting on cost trends, savings progress, and risk
– Define governance, controls, tagging standards, and approval workflows
– Support chargeback models and cloud cost review processes
– Partner with Finance and FP&A on planning and pricing impacts
## Benefits
– Annual base salary of $160,000–$195,000 gross, plus variable compensation and benefits
