## About the Role
This position is responsible for maintaining the reliability, availability, and operational health of data platforms across cloud and on-premises environments. The core focus is incident response, root-cause analysis, automation, monitoring, and observability.
The role also supports the full lifecycle of data platform changes, including migrations, releases, and upgrades. It emphasizes data integrity, rollback readiness, performance tuning, and cost-efficient storage and pipeline design.
In addition, the position owns disaster recovery and business continuity planning, applies security and governance controls, and supports FinOps and capacity planning for data workloads. It also contributes to team development through mentorship and knowledge sharing with analysts.
## Key Responsibilities
– Lead reliability management for enterprise data platforms across Azure Databricks, ADLS, Oracle, Informatica, SAS, and Cognos.
– Respond to critical incidents and perform root-cause analysis, ensuring durable fixes are implemented.
– Build monitoring and observability frameworks for data pipelines, BI refreshes, and platform health using golden signals and automated checks.
– Design automation and infrastructure-as-code solutions to improve operational workflows and environment provisioning.
– Manage migrations, releases, and upgrades with integrity controls, rollback planning, and change-management compliance.
– Improve the performance, scalability, and cost efficiency of data pipelines, queries, and storage.
– Develop and test disaster recovery and business continuity plans to meet RTO/RPO targets.
– Apply security and compliance controls, support FinOps and capacity planning, and mentor analysts through knowledge sharing.
## Required Skills
– Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field, or equivalent education and experience.
– 5+ years of job-related work experience beyond degree requirements.
– Extensive experience with enterprise-scale cloud and on-premises data platforms.
– Background in ITIL process implementation and operational governance.
