# CPaaS FinOps Lead
## About the Role
This role owns the commercial and financial performance of a messaging portfolio that includes SMS, MMS, RCS, Email, WhatsApp, and related channels. The objective is to keep vendor pricing, cost data, and customer-facing rates aligned so the business can stay competitive while protecting gross profit.
You will partner with Product Vendor Management and work closely with Sales, Pricing, Product Management, and Partnerships. The position combines vendor management, pricing support, reporting, and market tracking to inform both standard deals and customer-specific pricing requests.
## Key Responsibilities
– Own vendor contracts and ongoing relationships with messaging providers across SMS/MMS, RCS, Email, and WhatsApp.
– Maintain pricing and cost sheets, updating them regularly as supplier pricing changes.
– Review pricing, competitive benchmarks, margins, and customer volume to support strong rates by region and product line.
– Protect product cost targets and negotiate vendor terms for bespoke customer pricing requests to help maximize gross profit and support growth.
– Support pricing input for client RFPs and custom commercial proposals.
– Produce reporting on costs and product pricing to support decision-making.
– Track SMS and RCS offerings, pricing trends, and market changes.
– Work cross-functionally with Product Vendor Management, Sales, Pricing, Product Management, and Partnerships.
## Required Skills
– Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
– Strong analytical ability and the capacity to organize and interpret large volumes of information.
– Ability to work independently and own tasks through to completion.
– Advanced data analysis experience and proficiency with analytical tools such as Looker and Excel.
– Experience using AI to synthesize information and automate repetitive work.
– Direct experience in CPaaS messaging, specifically SMS and RCS.

## FinOps Responsibilities
– Manage vendor contracts and commercial relationships for messaging services.
– Keep cost and pricing data sheets current as market prices change.
– Assess pricing, margins, customer volume, and competitive trends to support profitable regional and product-level pricing.
– Negotiate vendor pricing for customer-specific requests.
– Provide pricing support for RFPs and bespoke deals.
– Generate reporting on costs and pricing to aid internal decisions.
– Monitor product offerings, pricing trends, and industry changes across SMS and RCS.
