## About the Role
Deacero is building a real-time pricing engine and an AI agent layer on GCP. This role will establish the FinOps practice from the ground up and take ownership of cloud economics across infrastructure and AI workloads.
The goal is to improve cost visibility, optimization, and governance so engineering teams can make cost-aware decisions early in the design process. You will work with technical teams to embed FinOps into architecture, delivery, and operations.
## Key Responsibilities
– Build the FinOps practice, including cost visibility, showback/chargeback, labeling, and unit economics.
– Improve GCP spend efficiency through rightsizing, autoscaling, Committed Use Discounts, reservations, Spot/preemptible usage, and BigQuery cost control.
– Set up cost governance with budgets, anomaly alerts, cost policies, and cost-as-code practices in Terraform and CI/CD.
– Reduce AI workload costs by monitoring and optimizing token usage across LLMs, including caching, model routing, and AI spend observability.
– Produce executive reporting on efficiency, savings, and cloud spend forecasts.
– Partner with teams to embed FinOps into architecture from the design stage.
## Required Skills
– 3+ years of experience in FinOps, Cloud Cost Management, or Cloud Engineering with a strong cost focus.
– Hands-on experience with GCP.
– Strong knowledge of Cloud Billing, budgets, CUDs/reservations, rightsizing, and BigQuery cost management.
– SQL skills for working with billing exports in BigQuery.
– Experience building dashboards in Looker, Looker Studio, Grafana, or similar tools.
– Understanding of cloud architectures, including compute, storage, data, and serverless environments.
– Advanced Spanish and technical English.
## Preferred Skills
– FinOps Certified Practitioner or GCP certification such as Professional Cloud Architect or DevOps Engineer.
– Experience with AI/LLM cost management, including token economics, AI Gateway, Vertex AI pricing, and inference caching.
– Terraform / Infrastructure as Code experience, including policy and cost-as-code practices.
– Experience with Infracost.
– Python or scripting experience for report automation and remediation.
– Multi-cloud cost management experience with AWS or Azure, or experience in high-scale environments.
