# Business Operations Specialist – Cloud
## About the Role
This role sits within the Global Operations Centre (GOC) and supports cloud financial management for the Media cluster. It works closely with Finance and Technology teams to analyse spend, improve visibility, and support cost optimisation across cloud usage.
You will collaborate with teams across the United States, Europe, and Asia in a multicultural environment. The role serves as a consistent Finance contact for Media cloud cost topics and helps turn cloud consumption data into clear financial insight for stakeholders.
A key part of the role is supporting FinOps delivery through forecasting, budgeting, reporting, and optimisation tracking. You will also help strengthen cost attribution, governance, and working practices across Finance, FinOps, and Technology.
## Key Responsibilities
– Partner with the central FinOps team to support Media cluster FinOps activities.
– Provide Finance execution support when capacity is limited and act as the Finance contact for Media cloud cost matters.
– Analyse cloud spend to identify cost drivers, trends, and variances.
– Improve cost attribution through allocation, tagging quality, and cost centre alignment.
– Work with FinOps, Tech Ops, and Global Product teams to identify and validate cloud cost optimisation opportunities.
– Define baselines, estimate savings, track delivery, and monitor optimisation risks and realised benefits.
– Support budgeting, forecasting, and actuals variance tracking for Media cloud spend.
– Produce Finance-quality reporting and showback information, while maintaining documentation and audit trails in line with WPP Finance policies.
– Help refine FinOps trackers, templates, and ways of working across Finance, FinOps, and Technology.
## Required Skills
– 4+ years of experience in Finance, FP&A, or Tech Finance as a Financial Analyst.
– Strong experience in cost analysis, modelling, and variance explanation.
– Bachelor’s degree.
– Advanced written and spoken English.
– Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and complex data analysis.
– Understanding of cloud costs and FinOps concepts, or a strong learning mindset.
– Experience in large, complex matrix organisations or global tech/services companies.
– Ability to work independently, be proactive, and bring structure to financial data through stakeholder engagement.

– Exposure to Microsoft Copilot or other AI tools.
