# Business Operations Specialist – Cloud
## About the Role
This role sits within the Global Operations Centre (GOC) and supports cloud financial management for the Media cluster. It works across teams in the United States, Europe, and Asia in a collaborative, multicultural environment.
The purpose of the position is to improve visibility into cloud spend, strengthen cost attribution, and support optimization efforts. It also provides Finance execution support when capacity is limited and acts as a consistent point of contact for Media cloud cost topics.
The role partners closely with the central FinOps team, Finance, Technology, Tech Ops, and Global Product teams. Its broader impact is to support budgeting, forecasting, reporting, governance, and continuous improvement across cloud cost management processes.
## Key Responsibilities
– Support the central FinOps team with FinOps activities for the Media cluster.
– Act as a Finance contact for Media cloud cost matters when additional support is needed.
– Analyse cloud spend to identify key cost drivers, trends, and variances.
– Improve cost attribution through allocation, tagging quality, and cost centre alignment.
– Work with FinOps, Tech Ops, and Global Product teams to identify and validate optimization opportunities.
– Define baselines, estimate savings, track delivery, and monitor risks and realised benefits.
– Support budgeting, forecasting, and actuals variance tracking for Media cloud spend.
– Produce consistent Finance-quality reporting and showback information for stakeholders.
– Maintain documentation and audit trails in line with WPP Finance policies.
– Help refine FinOps trackers, templates, and working practices across Finance, FinOps, and Technology teams.
## Required Skills
– 4+ years of experience in Finance, FP&A, or Tech Finance as a Financial Analyst.
– Bachelor’s degree.
– Advanced written and spoken English.
– Strong Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and complex data analysis.
– Understanding of cloud costs and FinOps concepts, or a strong willingness to learn.
– Experience in large, complex matrix organisations or global tech/services companies.
– Self-driven and proactive, with the ability to work independently, engage stakeholders, ask the right questions, and structure financial data.
## Preferred Skills
– Exposure to Microsoft Copilot or other AI tools.

– Analyse cloud spend to understand cost drivers, trends, and variances.
– Improve cost attribution through allocation, tagging quality, and cost centre alignment.
– Support identification and validation of cloud cost optimization opportunities.
– Define baselines, estimate savings, and track delivery against optimisation plans.
– Monitor optimisation risks and realised benefits.
– Support budgeting, forecasting, and actuals variance analysis for cloud spend.
– Produce Finance-quality reporting and showback for stakeholders.
– Maintain documentation and audit trails in line with Finance policy.
– Contribute to better FinOps trackers, templates, and team workflows.
