Role Overview:
As an Azure Financial & Reporting Analyst, you will be responsible for financial reporting and billing within a cloud computing environment, with a focus on Microsoft Azure. You will manage and optimize Azure spend, drive cost efficiencies, and own the financial reporting process, while also supporting change management and IT service improvements. The role requires advanced Excel skills, intermediate Power BI expertise, and a strong understanding of cloud cost analysis, IT service processes, and Azure data services. Experience with AI, Python, and modern operational practices such as FinOps, DataOps, or AIOps will be highly beneficial as you contribute to the continual enhancement and automation of key reports.
Responsibilities:
Own and manage Azure financial and billing reports, including spend tracking, reservation analysis, savings plan reporting, and cost optimizations.
Generate and enhance monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc reports on licensing, billing, and cloud cost forecasting using Power BI, advanced Excel functions (PivotTables, Power Query, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP), and Power Platform tools.
Conduct detailed analysis of Azure spend and cost trends, providing actionable insights for optimization and process improvements.
Support IT change management by participating in CAB calls, reviewing changes, and ensuring compliance with ITIL and ITSM frameworks.
Leverage AI tools such as Copilot to automate and improve IT and reporting processes.
Maintain accurate documentation and process tracking for spend approvals, renewals, and terminations, and collaborate with internal teams to deliver financial insights.
About the candidate:
Minimum requirement: BSc (2:1 or above) in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
Proven experience in IT or cloud computing roles, with a strong understanding of Microsoft Azure financials, cost management, and cloud financial models.
Advanced proficiency in Excel (including PivotTables, visualization, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP) and intermediate Power BI skills for data modelling and report automation.
Experience or appreciation of AI prompt engineering and querying large language models (LLMs).
Strong knowledge of IT service and change management processes, with ITIL Foundation certification (or equivalent experience) highly desirable.
Excellent communication skills, able to work effectively in remote or hybrid environments
