# Expert / Principal Operations Finance Analyst – AI Value Delivery & FinOps
## About the Role
The Expert / Principal Operations Finance Analyst will focus on financial analysis and strategy for AI initiatives within PG&E’s IT portfolio. This position is vital for ensuring that investments in AI translate into measurable business value. The successful candidate will work closely with various teams, including IT, AI product development, accounting, and business finance, to evaluate and optimize AI opportunities across the development lifecycle.
This role emphasizes transforming AI activities into tangible financial outcomes by applying rigorous financial analysis and establishing repeatable frameworks for decision-making. The collaboration will ensure that cost governance is maintained, and value is consistently realized from AI investments.
## Key Responsibilities
– **AI Value Delivery and Business Case Ownership**
– Lead finance support for AI business cases, ensuring full documentation of costs, benefits, assumptions, and risks.
– Develop metrics and analyses (ROI, NPV, sensitivity) for AI initiatives and establish routines for benefit tracking against actual outcomes.
– **AI FinOps, Tokenomics, and Usage Optimization**
– Build financial models for AI consumption, focusing on cost implications and usage patterns.
– Collaborate with IT and AI engineering teams to enhance cost-effectiveness and create financial transparency regarding AI consumption.
– **Accounting, Governance, and Standards**

## Required Skills
– Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Information Systems, or related fields.
– Minimum of 6 years of experience in FP&A, technology finance, investment analysis, or FinOps.
– Ability to build financial models and effectively communicate financial insights to cross-functional teams.
– Strong understanding of financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and governance.
