## About the Role
This role sits within the Cloud and AI Engineering organization and is focused on improving software and service productivity across Woven by Toyota and the Toyota Group. The team builds and integrates modern capabilities to help engineering teams move faster while maintaining a strong focus on safety.
The position is centered on FinOps, cloud governance, and automation. You will work closely with FinOps, engineering teams, senior leaders, and business stakeholders to drive cost optimization, improve cost allocation practices, and provide clearer visibility into cloud usage.
You will also collaborate with the Cloud & AI Business Operations Team to help establish FinOps practices across the company, using engineering solutions such as dashboards, data pipelines, and infrastructure automation.
## Key Responsibilities
– Support public cloud architecture and cost optimization for multiple engineering teams using Infrastructure as Code and industry best practices.
– Partner with FinOps and engineering teams to improve cloud usage and reduce spend.
– Design, implement, and operate cost dashboards for engineering teams with appropriate access controls.
– Work with the Cloud & AI Business Operations Team to promote FinOps adoption across Woven.
– Review and improve existing codebases and infrastructure deployment pipelines.
– Build automation and data pipelines that provide clear, actionable insights for the organization.
## Required Skills
– Degree in computer science, technology, engineering, mathematics, or equivalent practical experience.
– Coding experience in one or more of the following: Python, Go, Java, JavaScript, Shell.
– Experience designing, deploying, and operating solutions on AWS or GCP.
– Experience designing, implementing, and/or operating cloud cost optimization solutions.
– Experience with data transformation and preparation.
– Ability to analyze requirements and design and implement automation solutions.
– Strong interest in platform engineering, including automation, application/platform management, and performance evaluation/monitoring.
– Strong interest in cloud cost management and optimization.
– Experience with modern engineering practices such as DevOps.
– Ability to communicate in both English and Japanese, spoken and written.
## Preferred Skills
– Hands-on experience with cloud-native tools and technologies, Kubernetes, containers, and Infrastructure as Code.
– FinOps certification or professional certification for AWS, GCP, or Azure.
– Hands-on experience with Databricks, Snowflake, or Power BI.
– Experience working with finance or accounting teams on cross-functional initiatives.
– Hands-on experience with troubleshooting and incident management.
– Experience with data structures, algorithms, and software design.

– Support cloud cost optimization across multiple engineering teams.

– Collaborate with FinOps, engineering, senior leaders, and business stakeholders on organization-wide optimization efforts.
– Help build a company-wide FinOps culture.
– Review and improve infrastructure deployment pipelines to support efficiency and control.
