## About the Role
CISO Aid is hiring a Cloud FinOps Architect to lead cloud financial strategy, governance, cost optimization, and unit economics for AWS-based environments. This role requires deep hands-on knowledge of AWS billing mechanics and pricing models, along with experience turning cloud cost data into practical business insights.
The position partners closely with Engineering, Finance, and Product teams to build automated financial guardrails, improve forecasting accuracy, and support cost visibility across the organization. It also plays a key role in designing allocation models and billing data pipelines that support showback, chargeback, and financial reporting.
In addition to AWS-focused work, the role may support Azure and GCP commitment programs as needed. The scope includes automation, anomaly detection, and ongoing optimization of cloud spend.
## Key Responsibilities
– Design enterprise tagging taxonomies, showback/chargeback models, and automated cloud billing ingestion pipelines.
– Optimize AWS Savings Plans, Reserved Instances, and other commitment-based discounts.
– Support Azure Reservations and GCP Committed Use Discounts where required.
– Drive resource rightsizing, idle resource cleanup, utilization analysis, and cloud spend optimization.
– Build Python scripts and Terraform modules to enforce financial guardrails, detect anomalies, and automate ETL workflows.
– Collaborate with Engineering, Finance, Product, and executive stakeholders on cloud financial management initiatives.
## Required Skills
– 10–15 years of overall IT/cloud experience, preferably around 15 years.
– Deep production experience with AWS billing mechanics, pricing models, and cloud financial management.
– Hands-on experience with AWS Cost Explorer, AWS Cost and Usage Reports (CUR 2.0), Savings Plans, and Reserved Instances.
– Experience with FOCUS (FinOps Open Cost and Usage Specification) or an equivalent standardized cloud billing schema.
– Strong SQL skills with platforms such as Amazon Athena, BigQuery, or Snowflake.
– Strong Python scripting skills for automated, idempotent ETL pipelines, billing data processing, and anomaly detection.
– Experience designing tagging taxonomies using attributes such as Owner, Environment, and Cost Center.
– Strong understanding of AWS IAM and billing-scoped permissions.
– Experience with financial forecasting, cost allocation, budgeting, and showback/chargeback models.
– Ability to collaborate effectively with Engineering, Finance, Product, and executive stakeholders.
## Preferred Skills
– FinOps Certified Practitioner (FCP) or AWS Solutions Architect certification.
– Experience with Azure Cost Management and GCP BigQuery billing exports.
– Knowledge of GenAI cost tracking across Amazon Bedrock, OpenAI, Anthropic, or Vertex AI, including token and request-level costs.
– Experience analyzing Snowflake compute and storage consumption and SaaS vendor seat costs.
– Familiarity with Airflow, Terraform, or GitHub Actions for ETL orchestration.
– Experience building reconciled cost dashboards using Power BI or Tableau.
