# Operations Controller
## About the Role
This role supports global Operations across the Americas, Asia, and Europe, working as an extension of the headquarters controlling team. The main objective is to strengthen financial transparency, improve reporting accuracy, and support cost optimisation within a complex international matrix organisation.
The position is focused on consolidating, analysing, and reporting financial and operational data for the global Fittings & Fixtures Operations division. It works closely with Procurement, R&D, and FP&A to support month-end execution, forecasting, and decision-making with reliable data.
The role is based in Portugal and operates in an international environment with teams across Germany, the US, Mexico, China, and Europe. It also includes periodic travel to Germany.
## Key Responsibilities
– Prepare and maintain monthly reporting packages for global Operations.
– Consolidate financial and operational data for reporting and analysis.
– Track raw material, component, and finished goods prices.
– Monitor the procurement savings pipeline.
– Prepare accruals and deferrals, calculate FX impacts, and support month-end close activities.
– Analyse inbound and inter-unit freight variances and identify improvement opportunities.
– Collect and align financial inputs for forecasting and budgeting from plants, Procurement, and central functions.
– Support annual standard cost setting, including master data and system parameter maintenance.
– Assist with the rollout and ongoing maintenance of automated reporting systems.
– Work closely with headquarters and cross-functional stakeholders to support transparent and efficient workflows.
## Required Skills
– Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Controlling, or Business Administration.
– 1–3 years of controlling experience in operations, plant, business, or financial controlling.
– Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills.
– Solid understanding of budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and accounting principles.
– Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
– Strong teamwork skills and intercultural competence.
– Fluent English, both written and spoken.
## Preferred Skills
– Experience with SAP MM/FI.
– Experience with BI tools such as SAP BW or IBM Planning Analytics.
