# Finance Analyst – Reporting and Controls
## About the Role
The Finance Analyst – Reporting and Controls plays a crucial role within More’s financial planning, reporting, and analysis framework. This hands-on position is responsible for transforming financial and operational data into actionable insights. Reporting directly to the Head of Commercial Finance, the analyst will collaborate closely with various business units, ensuring that financial activities align with corporate goals.
The role involves extensive exposure across financial planning and analysis (FP&A), management reporting, financial control, forecasting, and governance. We’re seeking a candidate who is not only technically proficient but also genuinely interested in utilizing data and technology to streamline finance processes and enhance decision-making.
## Key Responsibilities
– **Financial Reporting & Month-End**: Manage the finance month-end timetable; prepare journals, accruals, provisions, and carry out balance sheet reconciliations.
– **Accounting Policy & Technical Accounting**: Develop and maintain accounting policies and technical position papers; ensure compliance with relevant standards.
– **Management Reporting & Performance Analysis**: Analyze monthly results against budgets and forecasts; identify trends, risks, and opportunities to support leadership insights.
– **Financial Controls & Governance**: Maintain financial controls and processes; support compliance with financial approval frameworks.
– **Audit & Compliance**: Coordinate deliverables for external audits and assist in statutory financial reporting.
– **Vendor & Finance Administration**: Manage finance records related to vendors and contracts; support financial approval processes.
– **Finance Systems & Automation**: Identify automation opportunities using AI tools to enhance reporting efficiency.
– **Business Partnering**: Foster relationships across the organization to aid in understanding financial performance.
## Required Skills
– CA, CPA, part-qualified, or equivalent qualification.
– Experience in FP&A, commercial finance, financial analysis, or a related finance role.
– Proficiency in financial modeling, analytical skills, and advanced Excel.
– Familiarity with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and month-end financial reporting.
– Understanding of P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow dynamics.
– Strong attention to detail for identifying financial issues.
– Ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
## Preferred Skills
– Experience in telecommunications, technology, or high-volume customer environments.
– Familiarity with Power BI, ERP systems, or other financial planning tools.
– Experience with AI or automation technologies.
– Previous involvement in external audits or statutory financial reporting.
## FinOps Responsibilities
– Coordinate and improve current budgeting, forecasting, and reporting cycles.
