# Cloud FinOps Lead

## About the Role
The Cloud FinOps Lead plays a critical role in supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) through the Infrastructure Operations Support Services program. This position is pivotal for ensuring effective financial operations within the VA Enterprise Cloud (VAEC) environments. As the lead for cloud financial management, you will oversee activities such as forecasting, cost optimization, transparent financial reporting, and governance, significantly influencing how the VA allocates and spends on cloud resources.

In this role, you will collaborate with a diverse team, including cloud engineers, architects, financial analysts, and stakeholders from different service lines within the VA. Your contributions will enhance financial efficiency and improve cloud spend visibility, leading to informed data-driven decision-making. You will manage various financial operations, impacting both the operational effectiveness and strategic direction of cloud initiatives within the VA.

## Key Responsibilities
– Oversee enterprise cloud financial operations, ensuring accurate forecasting and cost optimization.
– Develop and maintain cost models and dashboards.
– Strengthen tagging and allocation strategies.
– Identify optimization opportunities and monitor cost anomalies.
– Manage cloud cost reporting, unit economics analytics, and automated financial feeds.
– Streamline showback and chargeback workflows, as well as performance packages for leadership.
– Engage with VA leadership to deliver cost reviews, briefings, and modernization roadmaps.
– Implement improvements in tagging standards and reporting structures, enhancing overall financial governance.
