# Cloud FinOps Engineer

## About the Role

The Cloud FinOps Engineer will be an integral part of the Cloud Compute Services team at Arup, focused on managing and optimizing cloud financial operations. This role is essential for enabling the organization to implement and maintain effective cloud-based infrastructure strategies. As a liaison between business and IT, you will drive the adoption of FinOps principles and ensure robust financial governance for cloud initiatives.

## Key Responsibilities

– Design, implement, and manage financial management practices across a multi-cloud environment.
– Drive FinOps adoption, embedding financial and cost management into daily operations.
– Lead initiatives and projects, demonstrating effective leadership.
– Identify and resolve blockers to maximize value from cloud platforms.
– Monitor and manage operational and project costs, including annual budget planning.
– Collaborate with IT and business teams to refine financial management practices.
– Track and optimize cloud costs through effective billing and utilization management.
– Report on cloud financial management initiatives and progress.

## Required Skills

– Demonstrable experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and their financial components.
– Proven track record in cost optimization across complex cloud environments.
– Experience in implementing cloud chargeback and/or showback mechanisms.
– Strong analytical skills for interrogating billing and usage data.
– Advanced capabilities in data and financial analysis and reporting.
– Excellent communication skills, particularly in engaging with senior executives.
