# Cloud FinOps Engineer

## About the Role
We are seeking a Cloud FinOps Engineer to join our Cloud Compute Services team. This role focuses on managing the financial operations of cloud economics and supporting the implementation of effective cloud-based infrastructure on a global scale. You will collaborate with both business and IT teams to define, establish, and manage financial management practices in a multi-cloud environment.

The engineer will drive the adoption of FinOps principles, enabling innovative cloud initiatives while ensuring robust financial governance. Your contributions will have a significant impact on the organization’s cloud investment strategy.

## Key Responsibilities
– Design and implement FinOps functions tailored to specific domains.
– Lead initiatives that embed financial and cost management practices into daily operations.
– Identify and resolve issues hindering value realization from cloud platforms.
– Manage operational and project costs, including annual budget planning.
– Engage in technical discussions with technology teams to prioritize cost optimization initiatives.
– Monitor cloud costs through effective billing management, including chargeback/showback mechanisms and utilization tracking.
– Report on progress related to cloud financial management initiatives.

## Required Skills
– Demonstrable experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and their financial components.
– Proven track record of establishing cost optimization initiatives in complex cloud environments.
– Experience implementing chargeback/showback mechanisms for accountability in cloud usage.
– Strong analytical skills to interrogate billing and usage data, producing cost insights and reports.
– Excellent communication abilities, capable of engaging stakeholders at all levels.
