# IT Budget Analyst
## About the Role
This role is responsible for planning, tracking, and controlling the IT budget, with visibility into the financial performance of projects, services, and initiatives that support digital transformation.
You will work closely with the IT leadership team and Finance to monitor spend, manage forecasts, and support monthly budget close activities. The position also helps ensure accurate administration of contracts, vendors, purchase processes, and financial commitments.
A key part of the role is evaluating the financial impact of technology initiatives and identifying opportunities to improve spending efficiency and control.
## Key Responsibilities
– Prepare and maintain the annual IT budget, including OPEX and CAPEX.
– Monitor monthly budget execution and analyze variances against budget and forecast.
– Coordinate forecast and reforecast cycles.
– Review purchase requests, requisitions, purchase orders, and related financial commitments for IT projects and services.
– Produce financial indicators, analyses, reports, and executive presentations for IT leadership.
– Track contracts, vendors, and payments to ensure proper financial administration.
– Support monthly accounting close processes and budget reconciliations with Finance.
– Assess the financial impact of digital transformation and technology initiatives, identifying opportunities to optimize spend.
## Required Skills
– Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Information Technology, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
– 3–5 years of experience in budget control, financial planning, or financial analysis, preferably within IT.
– Experience with budget preparation and tracking, forecast and reforecast processes, CAPEX, OPEX, and variance analysis.
– Knowledge of contract administration, purchase orders, vendors, and financial processes.
– Advanced Excel and Power BI skills.
– Intermediate knowledge of SAP and project management tools such as Project, Jira, or similar.
– Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, organization, results orientation, effective communication, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
## FinOps Responsibilities
– Track and control IT operating and capital spend.
– Monitor budget execution and analyze variances against budget and forecast.
– Support forecast and reforecast processes.
– Review financial commitments tied to IT projects and services.
– Evaluate the financial impact of technology initiatives.
– Identify opportunities to optimize spend and improve efficiency.
– Maintain visibility into contracts, vendors, and payments.
