## About the Role
The Cost Optimisation Analyst reports to the Cost Optimisation Manager and is responsible for analysing, monitoring, and improving cloud spend across the organisation. The role supports financial accountability, helps maximise efficiency, and contributes to a stronger cost-conscious culture in cloud operations.
This position combines analytical work, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration with finance and IT, as well as engineering and product teams. Its core purpose is to improve cost visibility, control cloud expenditure, and support better decision-making.
A key part of the role is AI cost visibility and token economics, including building cost models at the token, model, and agent level. The work is intended to support profitability and broader business success.
## Key Responsibilities
– Track cloud usage and spend across multiple cloud platforms, and produce reports and dashboards to highlight trends and anomalies.
– Implement and enforce tagging policies to improve cost attribution and support chargeback and showback.
– Support cloud budgeting and forecasting using historical data and growth expectations, and monitor variance against plan.
– Analyse usage patterns to identify waste, underused resources, and over-provisioned assets; recommend and track optimisation actions such as rightsizing and reserved instances.
– Maintain cloud spending governance, tagging standards, and resource lifecycle controls, and support audits and compliance requirements.
– Manage cloud cost management tools, automate routine reporting and alerts, and improve cost-control processes.
– Partner with engineering, product, finance, and IT teams to build cost awareness and support optimisation initiatives.
– Establish cost models for AI usage at token, model, and agent level to improve enterprise AI cost transparency.
## Required Skills
– Experience with cloud platforms and AI/ML services, including Azure AI/ML services, Azure OpenAI, and Bedrock.
– Data engineering and analytics experience.
– Strong understanding of FinOps principles and cloud cost management.
– Process improvement mindset with the ability to drive automation and efficiency.
– Advanced Excel skills.
– Experience working in a multinational, matrix organisation with multiple legal and group entities.
– Experience handling complex data sets with strong attention to detail.
– Excellent organisational, written, and verbal communication skills.
– Strong decision-making ability.
– Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

## FinOps Responsibilities
– Monitor cloud spend and usage across multiple platforms.
