## About the Role
The Cost Optimization Analyst – FinOps will join the Digital Foundation Solutions Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE) US team to improve cloud financial operations across public and private cloud environments. The role is focused on increasing business value through cost transparency, financial accountability, and cloud resource optimization.
This position works closely with technical, financial, and business stakeholders to support decision-making and improve how cloud costs are managed. Core objectives include identifying savings opportunities, strengthening reporting, and building clearer visibility into cloud spend.
The role is based on-site in San Diego, CA. A flexible arrangement of up to two days per week may be available for work that is suitable for remote execution. The position also requires work in a clean room environment with coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, and gloves.
## Key Responsibilities
– Manage hybrid cloud spend across private cloud lifecycle management and public cloud workload management.
– Administer Flexera access and maintain cloud cost data accuracy at both billing and workload levels.
– Provide cloud usage optimization recommendations based on data insights and best practices.
– Deliver monthly reporting and dashboards covering cloud cost, utilization, and performance metrics.
– Develop forecasting models for future cloud spend.
– Lead stakeholder sessions, including onboarding new cost managers, cost center owners, and cost owners.
– Support the broader Cloud Cost Management Community through knowledge-sharing initiatives.
– Help address cloud financial knowledge gaps through education and enablement activities.
## Required Skills
– Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Management, Data Analytics/Science, Accounting, or a related field.
– 5+ years of FinOps experience with a focus on cloud financial management.
– Hands-on experience with Azure and/or GCP.
– Strong understanding of cloud pricing models and commitment management.
– Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analytics tools, including SQL, Python, and PowerShell.
– Analytical mindset with the ability to turn complex data into actionable insights.
– Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
– Ability to work independently and take ownership.
– Ability to interact effectively with engineers, executives, and senior managers.
– Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and assignments.
– Strong documentation skills.
– Ability to overcome organizational resistance.

– Strong interest in FinOps and enabling efficient cloud usage.
