## About the Role
This role sits at the intersection of data engineering and cloud financial operations on a GCP platform. It is responsible for building the audit, retention, attribution, and reporting foundations needed for a multi-tenant environment that must remain compliant, traceable, and cost-efficient.
You will work across data, product, and engineering teams to deliver reliable pipelines, immutable audit storage, and real-time cloud spend visibility. This is a current opening on an active client project, with applications reviewed on a rolling basis. The role is fully remote for candidates based in Latin America (LATAM) and requires at least six hours of overlap with core business hours, primarily aligned with Pacific, Central, or Eastern U.S. time zones. Applications are accepted until July 12, 2026, and feedback is expected by July 20, 2026.
## Key Responsibilities
– Design and maintain BigQuery audit datasets with compliant schemas, immutable retention, and access controls.
– Build Cloud Audit Log pipelines that route inputs and outputs into structured audit stores for security, compliance, and operational review.
– Create Cloud Billing export pipelines and Looker Studio dashboards for spend visibility, trend tracking, and budget forecasting.
– Implement FinOps tagging and labeling across GCP resources to enable cost attribution by tenant, project, and user.
– Support chargeback, showback, and optimization workflows through granular cost allocation.
– Configure Cloud Monitoring alerts for quota exhaustion and cost anomalies.
– Build metadata pipelines that feed archive management systems and support lineage, retention, and lifecycle policy enforcement.
– Develop and maintain ETL pipelines with strong standards for data quality, consistency, performance, and reliability.
– Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver data infrastructure that serves both operational and compliance needs.
## Required Skills
– 7+ years of experience as a Data Engineer.
– Experience building production data pipelines.
– Growing specialization in cloud cost management and audit/compliance infrastructure.
– Strong hands-on experience with BigQuery, including audit dataset design and compliance-oriented schema modeling.
– Experience with immutable retention or Object Lock-style configuration for legally defensible log storage.
– Experience routing and processing GCP Cloud Audit Logs, including log sink design, filtering, and continuous delivery patterns for MCP or equivalent workloads.
– Experience implementing Cloud Billing exports, FinOps tagging/labeling taxonomies, and Looker Studio dashboards.
– Experience configuring Cloud Monitoring alerting for quota exhaustion and cost anomalies in multi-tenant environments.
– Familiarity with metadata pipeline engineering for archive management systems, including lifecycle policy enforcement and retention schedules.
– Strong Python skills for pipeline development.
– Advanced SQL skills for large-scale querying in BigQuery and related GCP data services.
– Experience with data quality checks, monitoring, and CI/CD pipelines for data workflows.
– Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
## Preferred Skills
– Airflow, Kafka, or similar orchestration and messaging tools.
– Experience with data governance, DLP policies, or privacy compliance standards.
– Looker experience beyond Looker Studio.
– Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer certification.
– FinOps Certified Practitioner certification.
