## About the Role
The Public Cloud Cost & Usage Governance team, part of the Global Cloud Services organization, seeks a skilled professional to enhance cloud financial management. This position is pivotal in establishing long-range planning and monthly forecasting of public cloud costs and usage. It involves identifying optimization opportunities and ensuring efficient resource utilization in collaboration with engineering and sales teams. Reporting to the Director of Cloud FinOps, you’ll play a key role in driving strategic decisions that impact the company’s cloud financial operations.
Your main objectives include monitoring and optimizing cloud expenditures across multiple platforms like AWS, GCP, and Azure, while developing forecasting models. You’ll also lead initiatives for cost governance, providing actionable insights through dashboards and reports, and promoting best practices across the organization.
## Key Responsibilities
– Monitor and optimize cloud spending across AWS, GCP, and Azure.
– Collaborate with engineering teams to implement cost-effective cloud solutions.
– Develop and maintain cloud cost forecasting models.
– Manage commit-based discounts to optimize long-term costs.
– Provide visibility and insights into cloud expenses through dashboards and reports.
– Define and implement cost allocations for metrics such as cost per customer and cost per instance.
– Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements in cost management.
– Work with cloud service providers on demand planning and capacity reservations.
– Collaborate with the go-to-market team on customer migration planning and tracking.
## Required Skills
– 12 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; 8 years with a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 5 years of experience in Finance, IT, Cloud Computing, or a similar field.
– A minimum of 5 years in a FinOps or cloud financial management role.
– Hands-on experience with major cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
– Proficient with cloud cost management tools (e.g., AWS Cost Explorer, Google Cloud Billing).
– Strong financial forecasting, budgeting, and cost optimization skills.
– Excellent collaboration abilities with cross-functional teams.
– Full professional proficiency in English.
## Preferred Skills
– FinOps Certified Practitioner or AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner.
– Experience with automation tools for cost management.
