## About the Role
As a Tech & FinOps Controller at idealo, you will serve as a Finance Business Partner for the Product and Tech organizations. This role is critical in enhancing our FinOps approach, ensuring transparency in investments, technical usage, and costs related to cloud and AI. You will play an essential role in transforming data into actionable insights, supporting informed decision-making for strategic initiatives.
The position involves close collaboration with multiple teams, including Product, Tech, CFO, and Operations, to drive financial planning, budget management, and continuous financial oversight. Your work will directly influence the financial performance and strategic direction of idealo’s technology initiatives.
## Key Responsibilities
– Serve as a Finance Business Partner for Product and Tech: manage planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
– Develop KPIs, reports, forecasts, and business cases, translating technical factors into financial decision-making.
– Manage and optimize AWS, cloud, and AI costs through transparent cost allocation, forecasting, and management reporting.
– Establish FinOps best practices alongside Product, Platform, and Engineering teams; identify and track efficiency and savings potential.
– Leverage AI in controlling for automation, analysis, anomaly detection, forecasting, and preparation of management information.
– Collaborate closely with CFO and executive team as a strategic partner for financial decisions.
## Required Skills
– Extensive experience in controlling, finance business partnering, or financial analysis, with strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and management reporting.
– Proficient numerical skills and experience in creating KPIs, economic, investment, and scenario calculations.
– Ability to analyze complex cost and performance structures and clearly communicate financial, operational, and technical relationships.
– Independent, precise, and solution-oriented work style with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
– Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with ERP and BI tools; experience with SAP, Jedox, and Tableau is advantageous.
– Fluent in both German and English.
