## About the Role
The Financial Analyst will play a pivotal role in advancing the financial health of our behavioral health programs. This position is essential in developing and enhancing financial models for budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning. Working collaboratively across departments, the Analyst will analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to executive leadership, ultimately impacting decision-making and resource allocation.
The Financial Analyst will focus on financial planning and analysis, behavioral health revenue analysis, and support programs funded by the county. The role involves close collaboration with the Accounting, Revenue Cycle, and Operations teams, ensuring financial accuracy and the strategic allocation of resources.
## Key Responsibilities
– **Financial Planning & Analysis**:
– Develop and maintain financial models for budgeting and forecasting.
– Prepare financial analyses including variance reporting and operational metrics.
– Analyze revenue, expenses, and program profitability to identify trends and opportunities.
– Produce financial dashboards and key performance indicators (KPIs) for leadership.
– **Behavioral Health Revenue Analysis**:
– Monitor and analyze revenue streams from various funding sources.
– Track billing performance including denial rates and claim aging.
– Collaborate to resolve billing issues affecting budgets.
– **County and Government-Funded Program Support**:
– Support financial reporting for county contracts and Medi-Cal programs.
– Validate reimbursement methodologies and service utilization.
– **Data Analytics & Reporting**:
– Extract and analyze data from systems to enhance reporting clarity.
– Develop automated reports to improve performance visibility.
– **Strategic Finance Support**:
– Evaluate new programs and provide financial feasibility studies.
– Participate in process improvements related to financial reporting.
## Required Skills
– Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
– A minimum of 3 years of experience in financial analysis or healthcare finance.
– Strong understanding of behavioral health billing and reimbursement processes.
– Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial modeling and analysis.
– Familiarity with financial reporting systems and data analysis.
## Preferred Skills
– Experience in behavioral health or community health environments.
– Knowledge of California Medi-Cal regulations and county contracts.
– Proficiency in business intelligence platforms like Microsoft Power BI.
