# Job Description: Senior Financial Analyst
## About the Role
Metropolis is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to enhance our corporate finance function. In this pivotal role, you will utilize your analytical expertise to navigate complex data and develop strategic narratives that influence decision-making across the organization. You will be responsible for not just traditional reporting but for identifying trends and risks before they impact the financial ledger, ultimately driving the fiscal health of the company.
This role collaborates closely with various business units, acting as a financial advisor and translating departmental performance into insights that support the larger business objectives. Your work will directly influence capital allocation and long-range planning, contributing to Metropolis’s growth and success.
## Key Responsibilities
– Lead forecasting cycles, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reviews.
– Conduct complex variance analysis (Actuals vs. Budget/Forecast) to provide insights on financial performance.
– Build and maintain advanced financial models for capital allocation and ROI analysis.
– Act as a financial advisor to different departments, aligning operational expenses and headcount with profitability goals.
– Prepare board-ready reporting packages and internal dashboards.
– Ensure financial data integrity as the “single source of truth” for the organization.
– Continuously audit financial workflows and identify opportunities for automation and process improvement.
## Required Skills
– 3+ years of experience in Corporate Finance, FP&A, or Investment Banking, preferably in high-growth technology or AI environments.
– Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas and macros, and experience with ERP/EPM systems (e.g., NetSuite, Adaptive Insights, Anaplan).
– Strong foundation in GAAP and advanced financial analysis capabilities.
– Ability to synthesize large data sets into clear financial narratives, explaining unit economics across various business lines.
– Proven experience using generative AI and advanced data tools for financial modeling and reporting.
– Exceptional skills in presenting data clearly and accurately to executive leadership.
– A proactive approach to work, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
## Preferred Skills
– Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
– MBA or CFA designation is a plus.
