# Job Title: Senior FinOps Practitioner
## About the Role
NCS Australia is looking for an experienced Senior FinOps Practitioner to join our Cloud & Digital Practice. This client-facing role is crucial for delivering advisory services in FinOps, cloud financial management, and cost optimization across leading cloud platforms including AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The ideal candidate will collaborate with enterprise clients to refine cloud investments and improve financial accountability, with a focus on enhancing FinOps maturity to support business growth.
In this role, you will undertake a variety of responsibilities including conducting financial assessments, developing governance frameworks, and driving cost optimization strategies. You’ll work closely with a diverse team, including Cloud Architects and Delivery Teams, to deliver measurable outcomes that align with business goals.
## Key Responsibilities
– Deliver FinOps consulting and cloud financial management services across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
– Conduct cloud financial assessments to identify cost optimization opportunities.
– Develop FinOps strategies, governance frameworks, and continuous improvement roadmaps.
– Drive cloud cost optimization through:
– Rightsizing and resource lifecycle management
– Commitment management including Savings Plans and Reserved Instances
– Architectural recommendations
– Support pre-sales activities, including workshops, solution design, and proposal development.
– Lead maturity assessments and provide executive-level reporting using tools like Flexera One CCO and other relevant cost management applications.
– Offer guidance on forecasting, budgeting, and cloud consumption analytics.
– Facilitate customer workshops, presentations, and stakeholder engagements.
## Required Skills
– Extensive experience in FinOps, Cloud Consulting, Technical Account Management, or Cloud Financial Management.
– Strong expertise in cloud commercial models, specifically AWS, Azure, and GCP.
– Hands-on experience with Flexera One CCO, AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, and Google Cloud Billing.
– Proficient in:
– Cost optimization and governance
– Budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
– Cost allocation, showback, and chargeback
– Multi-cloud financial management
– FinOps Framework and best practices
– Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and workshop facilitation skills.
– Proven track record in delivering cloud cost savings and governance outcomes.
## Preferred Skills
– Flexera Certified Cloud Cost Optimization Administrator (highly preferred).
– Certifications in FinOps, AWS Solutions Architect (Associate), Azure Fundamentals, Google Cloud Digital Leader, or Project Management Professional (PMP).
