# Senior FP&A Analyst, Cloud Hosting

## About the Role

This position sits within GitLab’s FP&A organization and reports to the Manager, FP&A. It supports financial decisions tied to cloud and AI infrastructure spend by turning billing, usage, and operational data into actionable analysis for engineering and finance leaders.

The broader FP&A team supports executive and functional leaders across GitLab with annual planning, the operating plan, the long-term financial model, internal reporting, and analytical tools that help keep the business predictable. The work is cross-functional and takes place in a remote, asynchronous environment that depends on clear communication, ownership, and the ability to make complex information useful. AI is expected to be part of daily workflows.

## Key Responsibilities

– Track and report cloud and AI-related expenses, including ongoing forecast maintenance.
– Build and update models using actual results, usage drivers, and business drivers.
– Complete month-end close work such as accruals, allocations, reconciliations, variance analysis, and close commentary.
– Support annual planning and recurring forecasting cycles.
– Create new models or refine existing ones to answer changing business questions.
– Work with engineering, product, procurement, accounting, and finance partners to collect inputs, resolve data issues, and explain results.
– Pull cloud billing data from provider consoles, billing exports, and other sources, then convert it into clear recommendations and decision-support materials.
– Use AI tools to streamline reporting, analysis, data preparation, and related finance processes.
– Manage priorities, own deliverables, and keep stakeholders informed of progress and risks.

## Required Skills

– Experience in FP&A, corporate finance, accounting, or finance business partnering.
– Exposure to vendor spend, forecasting, variance analysis, and month-end close activities.
– Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, including the ability to work with detailed data and evaluate trade-offs.
– Ability to build or improve models from scratch.
– Ability to turn complex financial and operational data into clear recommendations.
– Strong prioritization, independent working, and communication skills in an asynchronous environment.
– Experience with cloud and AI vendor spend.

## Preferred Skills

– Cloud cost management experience.
– FinOps experience.
– Interest in working with cloud cost data to support business decisions.
